Virginia March for Life One Week from Today

Next Wednesday, April 2, along with thousands of other pro-lifers, American Life League will attend the annual Virginia March for Life. 

This year’s march is as important as ever, as Virginia lawmakers are attempting to rush through a bill that would add an abortion amendment to the state’s constitution. 

The Planned Parenthood-backed abortion ballot initiative, HJR 1, is a state amendment that would enact the “fundamental right to reproductive freedom” into the state constitution. 

Virginia already has some of the most liberal abortion laws in the country, allowing abortion at any time for any reason using loopholes in the current code of law. Virginia’s former governor also famously said that if a baby survives an abortion, the family and the doctor would decide whether or not to proceed. He stated, “The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

In a January edition of ALL’s STOPP report, STOPP representatives stated that Virginia is in desperate need of pro-lifers who will speak up to stop this law. Judie Brown, ALL’s president, stated in an email to pro-lifers, “We must do everything we can to convince our state lawmakers and fellow Virginians that the right to life, not the elimination of life, is a cherished American value that should never be swept under the political rug of the abortion cartel.”

Trump Administration Could Potentially Cancel Family Planning Grants to Planned Parenthood

A Wall Street Journal article revealed this week that the Department of Health and Human Services is planning to immediately freeze $27.5 million dollars in family planning grants given to groups, which includes Planned Parenthood. Though the focus of the HHS is to investigate if these funds have been used by these groups toward DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) initiatives rather than abortion, this action could potentially lead to a greater federal step by this administration in defunding Planned Parenthood.

According to the article, the freeze “would suspend funding meant to support, in the U.S., pregnancy testing, provision of contraception, treatment of sexually transmitted infections and evaluation and counseling for infertility.” However, Planned Parenthood has received Title X funding for decades, despite the organization’s growing “service” of abortion (Title X prohibits funding toward abortion as a method of family planning) and declining numbers of both its patients and contraceptive services.

There is certainly hope in the Trump administration’s decision to investigate Planned Parenthood’s several millions made in Title X grants just this past year. This may lead the administration to take a deeper look into the federal government’s allowance of billions of dollars to the abortion nonprofit throughout the decades and finally put an end to the massive funding ($699.3 million was federally granted to Planned Parenthood in fiscal year 2022-2023 alone). 

However, innocent preborn lives are the reason this money matters. For an organization that touts itself as leading in women’s “healthcare,” it destroys more lives through abortion, contraceptives, and its perverted sex education every day that it remains in operation. As long as Planned Parenthood continues to receive government funding of any kind, it will continue murdering the preborn and poisoning the souls of those already born. 

This news reported by The Wall Street Journal brings not only hope but an urgent need for prayer and action. ALL will continue to pray for, educate, and encourage this administration to defund Planned Parenthood once and for all, and we encourage all pro-life Americans to do the same.

Any Reason to Kill Is the Right Reason?

Pro-abortion politicians refuse to believe that there’s a single reason a mother ought NOT kill her preborn child. Just ask Julie McCluskie, speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives.

McCluskie sat in committee and explained how state-funded abortion will save Colorado taxpayers because paying for a dead baby is cheaper than a living one:

Politicians like McCluskie don’t see people as individuals created by a loving God. She views them as government dependents. By her reasoning, if eliminating people saves money, why stop at babies? Using Medicare to euthanize Grandpa is cheaper than hospice. 

Precisely. 

Because it’s Colorado.

Same with California.
