Pro-Life This Week: February 17, 2023

When we are confirmed, the Holy Spirit bestows upon us the gifts of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord. These seven gifts help us as we strive to strengthen our relationship with Him.

To help us reflect on these gifts, the Culture of Life Studies Program has created a Lenten reflection booklet that focuses on these gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Each day’s entry includes a Bible verse, a reflection, and a short biography of a saint who lived the meaning of that gift. We follow that with suggestions for how you and your family can use this saint’s example to build a culture of life in your own home or community.

Join us this Lent as we grow in faith and strengthen our families! The Lenten reflection booklet is linked here.

Week in Review – A Texas Judge Could Potentially Axe the Abortion Pill

A judge in Amarillo, Texas, could potentially take abortion pills off the market.

The group, Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, filed a lawsuit arguing that the FDA did not adequately evaluate the abortion pill’s safety when it was legalized and should have never allowed the drug to be available via telehealth during the COVID pandemic.

According to NBC, the Biden administration claims that the FDA “extensively reviewed the scientific evidence and determined that the benefits of mifepristone outweigh any risks,” and that the “public interest would be dramatically harmed” if the drug is taken off the market.  C

They seem to be ignoring the extremely dangerous side effects for the women who take the deadly pills, as well as the fact these pills take an innocent life.

If the judge, US District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, decides to grant a preliminary hearing, mifepristone–the abortion pill–will either be taken off the market, or the pre-Covid restrictions on the pill will be put back in place while the case is heard.

The pre-Covid restrictions require an in-person examination by a doctor and require the pills to be administered in person.

Please join us in prayer, especially for Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, as his pending decision could save countless preborn lives from the horrors of the abortion pill.

Women have turned to these pills often out of fear and coercion. It is our duty to remind them that better options exist! If you haven’t done so already, take a moment to share these options with the women in your life. You never know the impact one simple and loving action can have.

Leading up to President’s Day, ALL president Judie Brown reflects on different presidents’ pro-life positions. The press release calls out policy makers with an agenda for death and applauds the few pro-life presidents in the last 50 years.

Hugh Brown was a recent guest on Relevant Radio’s show Trending with Timmerie. Hugh was on the show’s “Marriage Hour” segment. Listen to the full show here.

In the 1990s, American Life League led efforts to expose perverted hidden messages in Disney films. A recent video highlighted these efforts, bringing the spotlight back onto Disney’s efforts to indoctrinate children.

The staff of Celebrate Life Magazine, ALL’s quarterly pro-life publication, recently mailed its Winter 2023 issue. One of the headline articles covers abortion pill reversal, including a gripping personal testimony from a mother who almost killed her baby if it hadn’t been for the abortion pill reversal. Read the story here!

Twice a week, Judie’s commentaries are distributed to an expansive media list. The list contains over 100 media outlets, such as Fox News, The Federalist, Breitbart, and The Daily Caller, among others. Judie’s commentaries are each featured on the front page of ALL.org. Each commentary is also featured as a part of Judie’s recurring column on Renew America

Who’s the greatest threat to the American way of life? Antifa arsonists? Planned Parenthood? Marxist academia? How about practicing, faithful Catholics?

A leaked memo from a FBI field office in Richmond, Virginia (since disavowed), shows “radical traditionalist Catholics” are suspected of being linked to white supremacy and extremist groups. Therefore, they should be surveilled.  Marxist groups are burning down businesses in the name of equity, but Catholics who pray rosaries outside of abortion facilities are the real threat, apparently. What do we make of this deep-state persecution?
