Pro-Life This Week: September 1, 2023

On September 9, pro-lifers everywhere will gather at local memorials and hold prayer vigils in commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.

The National Day of Remembrance website explains:

By participating in the National Day of Remembrance, visiting these solemn memorial places at other times of the year, and spreading the word about this prayer campaign, you are helping to humanize our aborted brothers and sisters and deepening your own commitment to ending the injustice of abortion. The National Day of Remembrance also offers hope and healing to women who have had abortions and others who have been hurt by abortion.

Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, it is crucial that we continue to mourn the millions of lives lost to abortion, and repent of the national sin of abortion, even as we begin the project of extending legal protection to unborn children in every state we can.

Week in Review – Pro-Abortion Group Sues Ohio Ballot Board; Chicago Funds Half a Million Dollars to PP to run High School Sex-ed Program that Would Offer ‘Linkage’ to Abortions

Ohio abortion advocates are suing the state’s ballot officials for approving the language “unborn child” to be added to this November’s ballot initiative.

In Ohio, Planned Parenthood and abortion advocates have spent millions of dollars to campaign for a ballot measure that, if passed, would enshrine abortion in the state’s constitution.

Now, just months before the election, voting officials have approved language on the ballot that uses the term “unborn child.” On the last item of the proposed amendment, it now reads: “(The proposed amendment would) always allow an unborn child to be aborted at any stage of pregnancy, regardless of viability if, in the treating physician’s determination, the abortion is necessary to protect the pregnant woman’s life or health.”

The barbaric amendment would allow abortion for any reason, at any time.

On Monday of this week, the Ohio Ballot Board approved adding in the term “unborn baby.” This decision was met immediately with a lawsuit filed by pro-abortion group, Ohioans for Reproductive Rights. In a press statement, Catholic Vote reports the group wishes to remove the term in order to, as the suit says, “properly and lawfully [describe] the amendment.” The pro-abortion group claims adding the term “unborn baby” will be misleading for voters.

In August of this year, Judie Brown of American Life League, released a statement on the ballot measure saying, “The Ohio debacle teaches a valuable lesson about ballot initiatives: setting rules about how a state constitution can be manipulated with words does not work when the question at hand is killing innocent people. As is always the case, politics is not about babies and babies are not political issues.

Planned Parenthood of Illinois announced it will launch a program to bring STI testing to five public schools in Chicago.

The city reportedly gave PP a half-million-dollar grant to run the program, which will offer testing to area high school students. The program is part of “Chicago Healthy Adolescents & Teens,” which on an official government website is described thus:

The CHAT Program (Chicago Healthy Adolescents & Teens) provides onsite sexual-health education, optional and confidential testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia, private one-on-one counseling with a health educator, and linkage to health care services. We serve many Chicago high schools, colleges, and community-based organizations that serve youth. CHAT is brought to you by the Chicago Department of Public Health, in partnership with Chicago Public Schools, and is currently operated by Planned Parenthood of Illinois

The program, operated by Planned Parenthood, also provides “linkage to health care services.” One of Planned Parenthood’s so-called services is abortion. The City of Chicago is funding a program run by Planned Parenthood that will offer sex-ed, STI testing, and abortion referrals for area high schoolers.

When the Christmas season rolls around you, will likely come across a few Christmas seals stuck to the envelopes of Christmas cards. These stickers originate from the American Lung Society. The idea behind the stickers is lung cancer awareness, and the organization raising millions for lung cancer research needs a closer look in this 60-second short.
