“Pro-lifers across the country are preparing to pay their respects to the estimated 47 million babies lost through surgical abortion by participating in American Life League’s Pro-life Memorial Day on October 2,” said Erik Whittington, director of youth outreach for American Life League.
American Life League will honor the millions of preborn children who have lost their lives to abortion with its second annual Pro-life Memorial Day on October 2. The day is chosen because it is the first Monday in October, the day the U.S. Supreme Court begins its annual session.
American Life League is overwhelmingly disappointed at the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to make Plan B, commonly known as emergency contraception, readily available to women over the age of 18 without a prescription.
“What happened to President Bush’s campaign promises of respecting the dignity of every human person and creating a culture of life?” asked Judie Brown, president of American Life League.
American Life League once again exhorts President Bush, members of Congress and the FDA to protect the American public and pull all support for the campaign to make Plan B ? commonly known as emergency contraception ? available over the counter.
“With the addition of the 100th Congressional sponsor to the Right to Life Act, the pro-life movement has reached an important milestone in our quest to end the slaughter of innocent preborn children by abortion,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League.
American Life League is aghast that the Food and Drug Administration has caved to mounting political pressures regarding the over-the-counter availability of a dangerous drug.
“In a continued attempt to normalize the evil act of abortion, some women in the pro-abortion movement have taken absurdity to a new level with a campaign bragging about their past abortions,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League.
American Life League is extremely disappointed in the Child Custody Protection Act and the misguided philosophy that created it. While the intentions behind it may be noble, this legislation presents a minor’s parents with a legal opportunity to sign their grandchild’s death warrant.
“Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) has unleashed a deceptive document to the American public, and we think he should be called to task,” said American Life League president Judie Brown.
American Life League commends President Bush for his veto of the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act.
“When I saw what Rep. Henry Waxman said about federal funding for crisis pregnancy centers, the first thing that came to mind was Planned Parenthood,” said American Life League president Judie Brown.
