Planned Parenthood has again made headlines for racially discriminating against its own workers. The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigated the Planned Parenthood affiliate in Illinois after receiving numerous complaints of racial discrimination, this time by several white employees.

press release on the EEOC’s website said that it found Planned Parenthood of Illinois guilty of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment “discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.” According to the EEOC, PPIL was segregating employees by race for weekly mandatory “affinity caucuses” and making disparaging racial comments about white people in its DEI training sessions. The EEOC also found that PPIL was not granting time off to white employees but was doing so for non-white employees. Though the organization was found in violation of the Civil Rights Act, the investigation ended in a settlement, resulting in PPIL firing the leader who perpetrated the racial discrimination and then paying $500,000 to end the investigation. (Ironically, this is not very much money for PPIL to lose, as it is one of Planned Parenthood’s top 10 highest-paid affiliates, earning $71,199,018 in 2023 and $130,642,428 in 2024.)

PPIL’s current CEO, Adrienne White-Faines, seemingly glossed over the former leadership’s discriminatory practices in her statement regarding the settlement, saying, “In the time since this complaint was filed, and since I came on board as president and CEO in 2025, I have overseen significant change at the organization, including across the leadership team. [Planned Parenthood of Illinois] has now come to an agreement with the EEOC about a path forward that will allow us to put this matter behind us and continue providing critical health care services to our valued patients from Illinois and across the country” (emphasis added).

However, Planned Parenthood’s record of racism is nothing new. Margaret Sanger, the foundress of Planned Parenthood (known then as The American Birth Control League), was a eugenicist and racist who said that the league’s mission was “to promote eugenic birth selection throughout the United States so that there may be more well-born and fewer ill-born children―a stronger, healthier and more intelligent race.” Though it took decades, Planned Parenthood itself issued a statement on its website in 2020 admitting to Sanger’s racism and her involvement in the eugenics movement.

STOPP’s 2020 report entitled Planned Parenthood’s Racism . . . In Their Own Words highlights more recent examples of employees filing racial discrimination lawsuits or complaints against the abortion giant, as well as Planned Parenthood affiliates admitting to the organization’s racism. Planned Parenthood of Illinois was listed as one of 19 affiliates that released statements admitting to the organization’s racism in 2020. Since this report, there have been more racial discrimination lawsuits filed against Planned Parenthood affiliates from former workers. Sadly, it is no surprise that an organization that justifies its own murder of children through abortion and promotion of birth control is continuing to find itself accused of perpetuating its racist roots. After all, evil begets evil.

This week, three Planned Parenthood facilities are permanently closing their doors! On Friday, April 3, PP will consolidate its three facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana, into a single facility. It is also closing a location in Port Angeles, Washington, on April 2. All three facilities are managed by the Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawaiʻi, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky affiliate.

Customers are unable to visit these facilities for in-person appointments, but they can still receive many of the same services through PPGNHAIK’s virtual health center, the PP Direct app, and e-visits. These virtual appointments offer access to birth control, gender hormone drugs, emergency contraception, and more. The Washington location was the only abortion facility of the three closures, but these virtual options allow its customers to continue purchasing abortion pills from Planned Parenthood to kill their babies.

Planned Parenthood claims that helping customers find compassionate “care” is its priority, but its focus on abortion is clear. On the webpage announcing the closures, PPGNHAIK specifically tells customers not to seek care from crisis pregnancy centers, claiming that “these fake clinics may look like legitimate health care providers, but they are not.” So much for its supposed support of “choice.”

As expected, Planned Parenthood is once again blaming financial woes for its facility closures, pointing to last year’s Medicaid defunding and “changes in federal funding.” It’s important to note, however, that PPGNHAIK is consistently one of the highest-earning PP affiliates. Its most recent tax documents, filed for the 2023–2024 fiscal year, show that it made $92,216,420. That same year, it paid its CEO $466,539. While the defunding undoubtedly affected PP’s earnings, long-term financial mismanagement has certainly played a part, too.

With these three closures, STOPP has identified 10 total (five permanent and five temporary) in 2026 so far. These closures are encouraging, but Planned Parenthood’s continued expansion of its virtual offerings ensures that its evil work continues without pause. And in just over three months, it will again have full access to our taxpayer dollars. We must continue to urge our legislators to defund Planned Parenthood permanently and protect our children from its bloodthirsty grasp.
