American Life League Speaks at Two Events
This week, American Life League speakers gave pro-life talks at events in Connecticut and Virginia.
Over the weekend, American Life League executive vice president Hugh Brown traveled to the annual Connecticut Right to Life conference. Hugh was invited to be one of the event’s keynote speakers and gave an informative and impactful talk on the state of the pro-life movement after Roe v. Wade.
“It was great to be in Connecticut with CRTL,” said Hugh regarding the event. “I wanted to give a brief history of the movement but also wanted to focus on how we can win. As a football coach, I encouraged the audience to be on the offense when it comes to life! We must show up with a winning mentality to save moms and babies.”

This past Wednesday, American Life League’s national director Katie Brown Xavios addressed the students at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic High School in Virginia. Katie spoke to the students about the “hard cases” of abortion, introducing and debunking many justifications for abortion.
Katie explained, “For many of the students, it was the first time they heard a talk on abortion and why even exceptions are wrong, and they received it so well! I was blown away by their attentiveness and their questions. These students’ questions did not seek more facts about when life begins but practical ways they could make a difference in their homes and communities.”

American Life League speakers travel frequently to address pro-life groups, schools, churches, and other audiences. There is never a speaker fee, and speakers only ask for their travel costs to be covered. 2025 Brings Record-Breaking Number of Planned Parenthood Closures
On Monday, Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties announced that it will close seven of its facilities on December 10. This news means that Planned Parenthood’s temporary defunding has led to 51 total closures in 2025, setting the record for the most facilities closed in a single year.
These California closures are especially exciting because all seven facilities commit abortions. Six of the locations offer abortion pills to mothers through both scheduled and walk-in appointments. The San Bernardino facility also commits surgical abortions, killing babies up to 21 weeks and six days old. When these businesses close their doors, lives will be saved!
As with every other closure this year, however, Planned Parenthood is using this development as a PR opportunity. It bemoans the services it can no longer provide, using the outrage it provokes to distract from a crucial fact: If Planned Parenthood truly cared about its low-income customers and wanted to continue receiving Medicaid funding to provide these services, it simply would just stop killing preborn babies.
Unsurprisingly, Planned Parenthood Federation of America quickly denied rumors that it was open to this option. But soon after, PP of Wisconsin announced that it was pausing its abortion services. A PPFA executive then shared that the organization might allow some affiliates to cease abortions to requalify for Medicaid reimbursements, but only if another PP affiliate could kill preborn children in the same area.
Pro-lifers know that Planned Parenthood will always place its greed and bloodlust over everything else, but we shouldn’t waste this opportunity to remind the public of the organization’s twisted priorities. We will only permanently defund Planned Parenthood and close all its facilities when the world recognizes the organization for the evil it is.
ALL in the News
Katie Brown Xavios, American Life League’s national director, was interviewed for two recent LifeSiteNews articles. In the first, she commented on the GOP’s efforts to make the abortion pill “safer.” She pointed out the absurdity in that statement and said, “These pills take a life 100% of the time; there is no way to make them ‘safer.’”
In the second article, Xavios commented on a Seatle high school that was found to be distributing trans paraphernalia to minors.
Susan Ciancio, editor of Celebrate Life Magazine and director of the Culture of Life Studies Program, penned an op-ed on Team Iron Will, a nonprofit dedicated to embracing and protecting children with Down syndrome and that helps families acquire the therapy equipment their children need to succeed. The article was published by LifeSiteNews. She also wrote an article about CLSP’s ongoing Pro-Life Essay Contest; it was published by Today’s Catholic Homeschooling.
On Thursday, Susan was a guest on Real Presence Radio. She joined the show to talk about ALL and its programs and to promote the 2025 Pro-Life Essay Contest, which is the largest pro-life essay contest in the nation! The contest is open to all 3rd-12th graders and runs now through November 7.
