Pro-life this Week: August 19, 2022

This week, the day before the Feast of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother, Atlantic published an op-ed comparing Catholics’ and the Rosary to a group of violent extremists.

The title, “How the Rosary Became an Extremist Symbol,” ignited outrage amongst Catholics and pro-lifers alike, as it featured a photo of a Rosary with bullet holes in place of traditional beads.

This was quickly back peddled by Atlantic, who replaced the title with, “How Extremist Gun Culture Is Trying to Co-opt the Rosary,” including a photo of a standard Catholic Rosary.

The article claims that “gun culture” is now synonymous with the Holy Rosary.

On this extremist fringe, rosary beads have been woven into a conspiratorial politics and absolutist gun culture. These armed radical traditionalists have taken up a spiritual notion that the rosary can be a weapon in the fight against evil and turned it into something dangerously literal.

The author says, “(They) have taken up a spiritual notion that the rosary can be a weapon in the fight against evil.”

To this we say, he is absolutely right.

The Holy Rosary has long been held as our most powerful weapon against evil. This is what inspired ALL’s very own Marian Blue Wave program. The program asks Catholics to pray one Rosary a week for the specific intention of ending all types of abortion and shutting down every Planned Parenthood and abortion facility.

As St. Pope John Paul II said, “The revival of the Rosary in Christian families, within the context of a broader pastoral ministry to the family, will be an effective aid to countering the devastating effects of this crisis typical of our age.”

The Holy Rosary and the powerful intercession of our Blessed Mother can defeat evil.

How else can you explain the miraculous effects of the Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood Through Mary campaign, which inspired the MBW!

Rita Diller, the interim director of STOPP, began the Bringing Jesus campaign by carrying pictures of Our Lady of Guadalupe and praying the Rosary outside of every Planned Parenthood clinic in Amarillo, Texas—19 to be exact.

The results were spectacular. By 2008, there were no Planned Parenthood clinics left in the Amarillo diocese. From 1999 to 2008, Planned Parenthood closed a net of 37 clinics across the country, and 19 (51 percent) of them were in the Texas Panhandle!

The Rosary is our greatest weapon against evil. It also a source of strength and hope. Throughout history, numerous victories have been attributed to the Rosary.

And, no doubt, there will more to come.

As Planned Parenthood’s abortion business continues to push lethal abortion pills like candy, and this week pledged $50 million to aid the abortion industry’s political arm in the upcoming primaries, we must continue to pray for an end to these atrocities. They are devoted to baby killing, and that is evil.

ALL in the News – CLSP Gets a Feature in Catholic World Report—And So Does Judie Brown’s Commentary

Judie Brown’s Friday commentary was featured as an op-ed by the Catholic World Report

Celebrate Life editor Susan Ciancio’s two-part series debunking popular myths about the pro-life movement is being published exclusively by LifeSiteNews. Part one is linked herepart two was released this week.

The Culture of Life Studies Program was recently the focus of an article on the Catholic World Report. The article gives a full run-down of the pro-life education program.

Rita Diller, the interim STOPP director, was a recent guest on From the Media. Diller spoke about the annual STOPP Planned Parenthood Facilities Report, which reports on the latest data available surrounding the abortion giant. The report studies a disturbing trend showing Planned Parenthood is moving from surgical abortions to DIY-at-home abortion pills. Read the full report here.

To comment on the findings of the report, Hugh Brown was a guest on Tipping Point With Kara McKinney. Hugh discussed the new statistics while also commenting on Planned Parenthood’s plans to push abortion pills.

Twice a week, Judie’s commentaries are distributed to an expansive media list. The list contains over 100 media outlets, such as Fox News, The Federalist, Breitbart, and The Daily Caller, among others. Judie’s commentaries are each featured on the front page of ALL.org. Each commentary is also featured as a part of Judie’s recurring column on Renew America

Prayerful Catholics became the center of attention this week after an article published in The Atlantic referred to Catholics armed with the rosary as participants of “extremist gun culture.”  The Rosary certainly is a weapon, but not in the way the Atlantic understands

If you haven’t taken an opportunity to join the Marian Blue Wave, watch ALL’s Katie Brown and Dwain Currier explain its necessity for ending preborn child killing.

ALL’s Marian Blue Wave needs you to spread the word about this powerful program!

The Marian Blue Wave is a call to Catholics across America to pray a weekly Rosary with the specific intentions of ending all surgical, pill, contraceptive and IVF abortion and shutting down every Planned Parenthood facility in the United States.

Imagine touting yourself as a healthcare provider and declaring that “healthcare is a human right.” What do you do with $50 million? Open more facilities? Provide free services? Buy mammogram machines?

None of the above, if you’re the largest child-killing business. Planned Parenthood’s political arm—Planned Parenthood Action—has wads of cash to burn, but rather than propping up its dying facilities, it throws it all away on electing folks who promise to make preborn child-killing as common as tooth extractions.

Throws.

They don’t have to buy it. They make it.

Give candidates money today so that they will give you more money tomorrow.
