Pro-life Memorial Day honors abortion victims

American Life League will honor the millions of preborn children who have lost their lives to abortion with its third annual Pro-life Memorial Day on October 1. The day is chosen because it is the first Monday in October, the day the U.S. Supreme Court begins its annual session. It was the Supreme Court that decriminalized abortion in a pair of 1973 rulings.

“Annually, Pro-life Memorial Day successfully raises awareness about the war that is being waged on the preborn in this country,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “To date, more than 48 million children have been lost to surgical abortion and millions more to chemical abortion. The slaughter must end now.”

Nationwide participation is expected as individuals are asked to mark the event with local prayer services and community pro-life events. Participants are also invited to wear shirts with pro-life messages to show unity within the pro-life movement across the country.

“American Life League is asking pro-lifers from state to state to join us in honoring the innocent children who have fallen victim to the number one killer in this country ? abortion,” said Brown. “Whether in Washington, D.C. or in small towns across the country, we invite pro-lifers to take time on October 1 to pray for an end to the scourge of abortion that has savaged our nation for the past 34 years.”

The official Pro-life Memorial Day T-shirt for 2007 is now available online.
