(Washington, D.C.) — A new video just released by American Life League states that “President Obama’s abortion coalition” and “Planned Parenthood’s national political machine” will ensure that Planned Parenthood revenues will be protected in any budget reaching the president’s desk.
“It is obvious that President Obama’s campaign bus might as well be Planned Parenthood pink. Look who the Democrats put on the so-called Super Committee: members of Congress ranked 100 percent by Planned Parenthood, like Obama himself, who owe their political livelihoods to the Planned Parenthood political machine,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “Not only that, but these Planned Parenthood apologists threatened to cut off all health care funds for the poor and elderly in three states. Why? All these states wanted to do was switch the tax dollars to non-abortion providers with the same or better health care services. Was anybody surprised when HHS mandated nationwide zero deductible contraceptives and morning-after abortions—a major revenue stream for Planned Parenthood? Anybody?” Earlier this year it was widely reported that Obama, with support from Senate majority leader Harry Reid, “drew a line in the sand” and said that they would shut down the government before accepting any budget that defunded Planned Parenthood. Since then, Health and Human Services has warned Indiana, Kansas, and New Hampshire that they face loss of all federal health care funds for redirecting money from Planned Parenthood to other qualified health care providers that do not perform abortions. The video titled “Planned Parenthood’s Political Machine” states that by helping to elect dozens at the state and national level, Planned Parenthood can continue to promote easy and open access to Planned Parenthood’s other core product—abortion. Planned Parenthood has revenues exceeding $1.1 billion annually. Although the abortion giant says abortions are only three percent of its services—services that include handing out a condom—abortions represent approximately one-third of its clinic revenues. Under its STOPP.org project, the first national group to take on Planned Parenthood 25 years ago, ALL launched a Defund Planned Parenthood Action Center this summer.
