— Representative Bachmann Repeats the Call to Strip Taxpayer Subsidization of Planned Parenthood —
— $349.6 million in federal and state taxpayer subsidization in 2008 alone —
— Last year, 42% of the U.S. House voted to strip Planned Parenthood of Title X funding —
Washington, D.C. (07 December 2010) — American Life League vice president and Stop Planned Parenthood International (STOPP) founder, Jim Sedlak, issued the following statement regarding renewed efforts to defund abortion provider Planned Parenthood:
“Planned Parenthood has received $4.9 billion in taxpayer money since 1973 and in that time it has ended the lives of almost 5 million human beings in their mother’s womb.
“It makes no sense for the federal government to spend millions of tax dollars to kill off future taxpayers. Planned Parenthood increases its abortion business each year, killing 324,008 human beings in 2008 alone.
“This death tally is done with the assistance of the American taxpayer — you and me.
“As the federal government continues to seek ways to rebuild our economy and find areas to cut from the budget, they must start looking at organizations like Planned Parenthood? We applaud Rep. Michelle Bachmann’s efforts to renew the push to quit the subsidization of America’s largest abortion chain.”
