Washington, DC—-On the 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, marked by the coming March for Life in Washington D.C., Paul Rondeau, executive director of American Life League, the oldest Catholic pro-life organization in the nation, released the following statement:
To celebrate Roe is to celebrate evil. To celebrate Roe is to deny natural law, to deny science, to deny common sense, to put oneself before the life of God’s own children. The March for Life recognizes this reality.
A Catholic can only embrace Roe by rejecting his own faith. It is discernment, not judgment, to state this simple fact: You cannot be Catholic and be pro-choice. On this 41st anniversary of the greatest injustice ever perpetrated by Supreme Court justices, Catholics should be unafraid to tell the truth to each other and the world.
Judie Brown, president of American Life League, asks Catholics to set aside time to pray for the conversion of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Vice President Joe Biden, and other infamous pro-abortion Catholics in public life who bring scandal to the Church by setting an example of disrespect for the body of Christ—-a disrespect that misleads the faithful and jeopardizes souls.
We also pray that all Catholics will offer comfort and love to their post-abortion sisters and families in recognizing that there is no unforgivable sin.
