Washington, D.C. (27 October 2008) – A web phenomenon is sweeping across pro-life circles, largely under the radar of mainstream news.
With the full support of American Life League, and only eight days before an historic election, a web site called "Just One Judge" is invigorating the pro-life movement.
With a unique fusion of video and petition, "Just One Judge" calls on all Americans who would defend human life to dedicate their votes to that most important issue and hold our elected officials to their campaign promises even after Nov. 4. Visitors to the site are asked to sign a pledge to be given to the next president of the United States. This pledge is a reminder that LIFE is the most important issue to millions of Americans. It is also an admonition to the next president that it is the president's solemn and sworn duty to appoint Supreme Court justices who will apply equal justice under the law – for the born and preborn alike.
"The next president and U.S. Senate will appoint and confirm the one Justice who will be the deciding vote on whether to overturn Roe v. Wade," the Web site states, "to restore the Constitutional guarantee of Life, or to allow the killing of innocent unborn children to continue."
The site features a video that scrolls backward and forward displaying, with the same words, two contradictory messages: one that our country will choose murder in the name of convenience; the other that with just one judge, we can change the course of history and protect all innocent human life.
"I encourage everyone invested in the cause of life this election season to visit 'Just One Judge,'" said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. "Each of our votes in this election is crucial, critical to the lives of millions of preborn children. As 'Just One Judge' beautifully illustrates, it takes only one Supreme Judge to turn around our culture, it takes only one vote to change the course of history."
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to death.
