Findings: Abortion Not Necessary to Save Mother’s Life

Washington, D.C. – In response to the findings of the International Symposium on Maternal Health held in Dublin, Ireland, with 140 medical professionals, including experts in obstetrics and gynecology, mental health, and molecular biology in attendance, Judie Brown, president and cofounder of American Life League, issued the following statement:

Time and time again, research continues to debunk the false arguments and propaganda used to justify the murder and dehumanization of preborn children. The latest data presented at the international scientific symposium validate the position that American Life League has maintained since our inception: Abortion is not needed to save a mother’s life.

According to The Irish Times, the findings of the International Symposium on Maternal Health have confirmed that abortion of a preborn child is not a medical necessity to the preservation of a mother’s life. These experts presented new research on maternal healthcare focusing on high-risk pregnancies, cancer in pregnancy, fetal anomalies, mental health, and maternal mortality. The conclusions blow the whistle on what abortion industry propagandists and their bought-and-paid-for politicians have always known: There is no medical condition that requires the direct termination of one life to preserve the other.

While celebrating these results, we must continue to fight for and uphold the dignity of every human being’s life. We must always defend and promote the preborn’s inherent right to life.
