Fredericksburg, VA (December 13, 2019) – American Life League president Judie Brown issued the following statement today following the court ruling to keep Baby Tinslee Lewis on life support:
Baby Tinslee will not be denied life support, judge rules.
And while the hospital is arguing that nothing good will come of keeping Tinslee on life support, her mother is grateful for the chance to be with her. This is a poignant story of the family of someone on the edge of life and thus deemed disposable by a healthcare institution—Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. While there are some who argue that Baby Tinslee Lewis will “never have a normal life,” we find it odd that those who think they are normal want to see this baby dead.
Let us pray for the Lewis family, for a miracle, and for a restoration of man’s respect for the dignity of the human person, regardless of condition or state of dependency. God creates life, and only God should end life—according to His will, not man’s.
American Life League is the nation’s oldest grassroots, Catholic, pro-life organization. Its president, Judie Brown, has led the organization since its 1979 beginning. She has served three terms on the Pontifical Academy for Life—appointed twice by Pope John Paul II and again by Pope Benedict XVI.
