Women of all ages and background descend upon Capitol Hill
Thursday, September 10, at 12:00 p.m., American Life League joins a host of other sponsoring organizations and participants representing the majority of women in the U.S. at Women Betrayed: The Real Stories Rally & Lobby Day, serving as the voice of an increasingly vocal majority of women across the nation. Their purpose is to call upon Congress to take decisive and immediate action, encouraging Congress to pass a budget that does NOT fund Planned Parenthood, forcing President Obama to either sign and defund the abortion giant once and for all or defend Planned Parenthood’s practice of harvesting and selling the body parts of aborted babies.
American Life League representatives Emily Brown and Melissa Pena issued the following joint statement on the eve of the event:
As an organization and as young women, we’ve seen and heard from women nationwide about their experiences with Planned Parenthood. For those who have succumbed to the lies and deceit propagated by the abortion chain and its allies in the House and Senate, and for those who have seen the recent videos that shine the light of truth upon Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of baby body parts, we stand with one voice to express our horror concerning the destruction and damage perpetrated on women and their children by Planned Parenthood. It’s time for this tragedy to end, and it ends by withdrawal of all public and private funding of the profiteering organization known as Planned Parenthood and its franchises.
Women are being betrayed by Planned Parenthood and by the U.S. government. We stand together in solidarity and demand immediate action to end this horror.
Emily Brown and Melissa Pena represent a new generation of pro-life women at American Life League, the oldest national Catholic pro-life education and advocacy organization in the United States.
