ALL President Judie Brown Accepts Position on John Paul II Academy for Human Life and Family

Washington, DC — American Life League president Judie Brown was invited and has accepted a position on the newly formed John Paul II Academy for Human Life and Family. This laity-led academy is a direct response to the reconstitution of the former Pontifical Academy for Life.

Brown stated:

It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the John Paul II Academy for Human Life and Family (JAHLF). Many of us have been overwhelmed with sadness at what occurred with the original Pontifical Academy for Life, and so from the ashes has arisen this wonderful response.

The JAHLF celebrates the teachings of St. John Paul II and all of the magisterial teachings of the Church that focus on human dignity and the Lord’s blessing of life in Him. Recent papers on the eloquence and urgency of Pope Paul VI’s Humanae Vitae underscore why the JAHLF is needed in the Church and the world at this crucial time in our history.

The new academy will be independent from religious or civil organizations and remain rooted in the study of authentic Church teaching on human life and the family. Academy organizer Professor Joseph Seifert stated: “Our task in this academy is exactly this: rejecting any of the horrible evils and errors which shape modern society and have even entered the doors of the sanctuary of the Church, by the clear exposition of, and by living, the truth about human life and the family. This entails also calling abortion murder and not interruption or termination of pregnancy, abstaining from dishonest names that obscure the truth.”
