The major focus of the pro-life movement this week has been the March for Life in Washington, DC and the West Coast Walk for Life in San Francisco.
Activities in DC began on Thursday with a protest outside a Planned Parenthood building. Though still under construction, PP hopes to have it open this year. Also on Thursday, a couple hundred people attended a two-hour prayer rally asking God to prevent the opening of this center. The rally was put together by # protest PP. National pro-life leaders from across the country, including Joe Scheidler, led the rally. ALL’S vice president, Jim Sedlak, implored the crowd to take images of Mary, mother of God, every time they stand outside a Planned Parenthood facility.
The March itself was held on Friday as a major blizzard descended on the DC area. Thousands of dedicated pro-lifers braved the weather, listened to inspiring talks, and marched the 1.8 miles from the Washington Monument to the Supreme Court building.
American Life League was well represented in all of the DC activities. In addition to speaking at the prayer rally, we ran three different booths at the March for Life Expo. One featured our Culture of Life Studies Program; a second told attendees of our Life Defenders young adult program; and the third gave general information on ALL and our STOPP program.
This busy and productive week inspired and educated countless people.
