Science accurately defines when a human being begins, so why aren’t pro-life people using this science to end abortion?

By Judie Brown

The only way to answer this question is to begin with an example of today’s inconsistencies. Recently, the results of a poll of likely voters revealed that the majority support some limits on abortion after 15 weeks. The poll was commissioned by the pro-life political group Susan B. Anthony List. According to this group, the poll represented a measure of where Americans stand on late-term abortion.

The poll did not ask whether or not the preborn child is a person at every stage of his biological development, which would have been the right question. Instead, based on an upcoming Supreme Court case dealing with Mississippi’s flawed law, the poll was taken as it applies to babies 15 weeks of age or older.

The results of this poll are apparently to be used in efforts to end child killing after 15 weeks gestational age. In other words, the polling data translates into pro-life action, and this is where the conundrum begins.

Science tells the truth, confirming that the preborn child is a human being from his beginning.
