Saving Babies – There’s an App for That

Washington, D.C. (26 April 2010) – American Life League launched the first pro-life activism iPhone application Monday in advance of National Pro-Life T-Shirt Week April 27 – May 3.

The application lets users take photos, complete tasks and compete against other participants in the “Yo, Where’s the Shirt?” photo contest.

“Taking a stand for those denied their human rights has never been easier,” said NPLTW Project Director Scott Carroll.  “Any way we can encourage people to spread the message of human personhood – we’re on it. The iPhone app is an easy and fun way to get pro-lifers back on the streets positively impacting the culture on a one-on-one basis.”

NPLTW is organized by American Life League with the intent to increase awareness of the personhood of the child in the womb and the tragedy of abortion. The “Yo, Where’s the Shirt?” photo contest asks contestants to upload photos of themselves completing over 200 tasks ranging from silly to serious while wearing their pro-life T-shirts including:

–          Chalking pro-life messages on the sidewalk

–          Standing in front of the Supreme Court

–          Sidewalk counseling in front of an abortion mill

–          Brushing your teeth

–          Holding a baby

–          Participating in a pro-life march

The participant with the most points will win an iPod Touch.

“Primarily, we are concerned with getting people to think of the child as a person from the moment of his or her biological beginning,” Carroll said. “It is much harder to murder a person than it is to ‘remove a lump of tissues,’ and it is only when we finally get the nation thinking in those terms that we will be able to restore the right to life of our preborn brothers and sisters. Just by wearing the t-shirt and being out there in public, you will help to accomplish that goal!”
