It was wonderful to see so many truly pro-life physicians and health care practitioners covered today in a news report headlined "Medical practices blend health and faith."
What was sad was seeing bioethicist Alta Charo quoted as though she were totally unbiased. Charo is a Planned Parenthood devotee; she served on President Bill Clinton's bioethics group and has been a thorn in the side of those who oppose human embryonic stem cell research. She has testified before Congress defending Roe v. Wade.
Her reference to Catholic medical practices as "balkanized medicine" might give you a clue; anything that makes room for God is definitely divisive in Charo's world.
