The latest undercover video of a Planned Parenthood employee, done by David Daleiden, project lead at the newly public Center for Medical Progress, is shocking on several levels. In the video, we see obstetrician/gynecologist Deborah Nucatola openly discussing charging for baby body parts. According to LifeSiteNews, Nucatola “seemed to describe performing an abortion procedure outlawed by Congress a dozen years ago.” Daleiden expounded upon this in an interview and stated, “You can take her words in the video and line it up point by point with the legal definition of partial birth abortion.”
Nucatola, the senior director of medical research for Planned Parenthood, is apparently comfortable with her profession. Otherwise, how could she sit during a lunch meeting and discuss killing babies over a glass of wine?
Nucatola and her employer, Planned Parenthood, would assure you that there is nothing wrong with what was captured on this video. In fact, Planned Parenthood’s Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications, said in a prepared statement,
In health care, patients sometimes want to donate tissue to scientific research that can help lead to medical breakthroughs, such as treatments and cures for serious diseases. Women at Planned Parenthood who have abortions are no different. At several of our health centers, we help patients who want to donate tissue for scientific research, and we do this just like every other high-quality health care provider does—with full, appropriate consent from patients and under the highest ethical and legal standards. There is no financial benefit for tissue donation for either the patient or for Planned Parenthood. In some instances, actual costs, such as the cost to transport tissue to leading research centers, are reimbursed, which is standard across the medical field.
Seriously? Are we to believe that there is no profit motive in Planned Parenthood’s alleged “donation” process or the practice of slicing and dicing babies? Come on, Ferrero! One needs only to read the brochure from a body parts procurement company—a brochure that tells clinics four times how providing baby parts will increase their profits—to know the truth. Note that the brochure contains an endorsement by the chief medical director of Planned Parenthood’s largest affiliate. Anyone who is familiar with practices at Planned Parenthood knows better, for money drives everything this organization does.
Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League, confirms that “Planned Parenthood receives $528 million a year from taxpayers, and $400 million of that is from the Medicaid program. At the very least, Congress and the states should instantly suspend all Medicaid reimbursements to the organization.”
So none of this gruesome news is really all that surprising, as my 15-year-old grandson stated moments after watching a news report on the questions raised in that video. His wisdom reflects the truth of the matter.
This is why every American should sign the current petition and spread the word that it is long past time for the government to deny Planned Parenthood our tax dollars to carry out its horrific practices. And this is why Americans who see through the fog of Planned Parenthood’s façade are striving to shut it down, no matter what its source of income might be.
While Mr. Ferrero defines what is discussed in the video as “scientific research,” many of us would call it murder in the first degree. To use the parts of one human being’s body to allegedly research treatment for another person’s condition is beyond the pale!
Enough already! Stop the slicing and dicing of preborn children today!
