Eucharistic pilgrimages are part of the lives of many Catholics in our world today. It is a public way of testifying to the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, raising awareness in communities, and publicly glorifying God. So when we learned that there were protesters trailing the pilgrimage in Texas and Oklahoma, we were shocked in more ways than one.
Apparently the Church of Wells in Texas cannot tolerate respectful public witness to the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
We would urge these folks to listen to the words of Pope Leo XIV, who stated that “the Eucharist is God’s response to the deepest hunger of the human heart, the hunger for authentic life because in the Eucharist Christ himself is truly in our midst to nourish, console and sustain us on our journey.”
We need Christ on our journey to help us combat the evils of today, especially evils related to the lack of respect for preborn life and the vulnerable.
These attacks come in many forms, as explained in a recent Reuters article that stated, “The attorneys general of New York, California, Massachusetts and New Jersey asked the Food and Drug Administration to expand access to the abortion pill mifepristone, and remove what they view as outdated and medically unnecessary restrictions.” Their questionable claims are a response to the Trump administration’s restrictions on the abortion pill.
This action prompted us to wonder why Democrats would be hell-bent on killing the preborn even at the risk of the health of the baby’s mother. We know that it’s because abortion is sacred to their existence as Democrats.
Speaking of Democrats, Illinois governor JB Pritzker is so devoted to killing children by acts of abortion that he is poised to sign legislation that will protect the abortion pill even if the Food and Drug Administration bans it! Pritzker’s position is that if the World Health Organization has approved the deadly pill, that is good enough for him!
Sadly, such political hubris is not confined to the United States.
Some Belgians are having a hard time dealing with truth as well. Recently, a woman was arrested for carrying a sign that stated “Children are never born in the wrong body.” While she was ultimately released without charges being filed, an Alliance Defending Freedom spokesman said, “The Belgian authorities not only failed to uphold the fundamental right to speak freely—they turned the power of the state against those who were peacefully exercising their rights at the behest of a mob.”
According to LifeSiteNews, Chris Elston, an activist known as Billboard Chris, said “he is grateful for the drama because it would provide an opportunity to highlight censorship regarding the dangers to kids due to the unbridled promotion of transgender ideology.”
Seemingly, the depths to which humans will go in defense of false facts are being plumbed, but we have a feeling that the bottom is still nowhere in sight. Whether it is gender bending, abortion by pill, or any of a host of evils, when the devil is driving the truck, one could go all the way to Hades.
