There was some very good news published recently by a German cancer research center. Medical News Today reports, “Pregnancies lower breast cancer risk in BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation Carriers.”
According to researchers, women with inherited mutations of these particular breast cancer genes have a lower risk after age 40 if they have experienced several pregnancies. A woman with one child had the same risk, according to the study, as the woman with no children; but women with several children had a lower risk rate averaging 14 percent per child.
All I can say is hooray for motherhood!
