The news reported last evening about the little boy who had experimental brain surgery shot a chill through my veins. You see, Daniel Kerner, a six-year-old boy with Batten disease, received a transplant of purified stem cells taken from babies aborted during their first weeks of life in their mothers' wombs.
Te experimental treatment relies on the use of aborted babies, and has ever been attempted on a child before. The doctor who lead the surgical effort told the media, "We don't want people thinking this is the best thing since sliced bread."
One wonders how many people would ever think that murdering one child to perhaps save another is the best of anything. But then again, we do live in a culture of death.
