A group named Lady Parts Justice League, which describes itself as “a cabal of comics and writers exposing creeps hellbent on destroying access to birth control and abortion,” released a video this week that turned invented definitions into “facts.” The video entitled I’m Just a Pill presents as “facts” a totally bogus description of how the morning-after pill (Plan B) works.
I’m Just a Pill purports to show that a new human being does not exist at fertilization. It claims that the “fertilized egg” does not become a human being until it attaches to the mother’s womb (implantation). To make this claim, LPJL relies on a politically motivated set of definitions published by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 1965. The document, Terminology Bulletin #1, states that fertilization is the joining of the sperm and ovum, that conception is implantation in the womb, that pregnancy begins at conception (i.e., implantation), and that abortion is the termination of a pregnancy.
Pro-aborts have been using these definitions—that have no basis in scientific fact—to confuse the general public on whether or not hormonal contraception causes abortions. The factual answer is YES, they do. However, many physicians and other medical professionals cannot admit this, as they know they have been prescribing these products to young girls and women for decades. To admit the truth, they would have to come to terms with the millions of babies who have died as a result of their prescriptions.
But LPJL didn’t release this video to sooth consciences. Rather, it says that the video was released to fight “the Neil Gorsuch Supreme Court nomination.”
The nomination process for Judge Gorsuch moved forward this week as he appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday and Tuesday. A major part of the time was spent with senators asking in a myriad of ways how he feels about abortion and contraception. Despite the judge answering truthfully about these matters and the current state of the law in the United States, many senators have stated their intent to oppose his confirmation. Their reasons are all over the map and make as much sense as the stupid LPJL video.

We had hoped to also bring you news this week on the House reconciliation bill (HR 1628) that will defund Planned Parenthood and repeal and replace parts of Obamacare. However, late last night the Republican majority in the House delayed the vote. The White House is pushing for a vote today.
