Washington, D.C. (22 June 2010) – The push for ratification of the new Kenyan constitution is exposing, once again, the pro-abortion scandal perpetrated by “Catholic” Vice President Joe Biden. Biden promised Kenyan officials he would work to “allow money to flow” if the struggling African nation passed the new pro-abortion constitution.
Judie Brown, president of American Life League, the nation’s largest Catholic pro-life organization, is calling on Biden’s bishops in both Washington, D.C., and his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, to deny him Holy Communion until he renounces the measure.
“As Catholics, each and every one of us is bound to protect and defend the sanctity of every human being’s life,” said Judie Brown. “Vice President Biden’s plan to funnel money into already bleeding Africa, should they abide by his pro-abortion plan, is scandalous, sacrilegious and murderous.”
Brown continued by calling specifically on Bishop Francis Malooly of Wilmington, DE, and Archbishop Donald Wuerl of Washington, D.C., to deny Holy Communion to Biden.
According to Catholic Canon Law 915, those persisting in a state of grave manifest public sin are to be denied Holy Communion. It has long been held that those promoting and providing abortion access are complicit in the completion of an abortion – which the Catholic Church teaches is a grave, intrinsic evil.
“As one of the most prominent Catholics in the country, the vice president’s acts are scandalizing the entire body of the faithful,” Brown said. “His reception of Jesus Christ’s body, blood, soul and divinity in the Blessed Sacrament cannot do other than to appear as a tacit approval from the bishops of Biden’s outspoken abortion work.”
“If Vice President Biden cannot see Christ in the Eucharist, he will never see the dignity of the child in the womb.”
