Encouragement comes about in all sorts of ways, the traditional and the nontraditional—including postings on Facebook pages, videos on YouTube and through many other venues that just a few short years ago were unheard of. Imagine, for example, “tweeting” a friendly greeting ten years ago. Nobody would have known what you were talking about.
No matter how our messages are communicated, every once in a while a real gem comes our way. Take this YouTube message from Evi for example,
[I]f someone conceives due to rape why take it out on the baby? I was raped a long time ago, & had I become pregnant that baby would still have been part of me, too. But then I chose to have my children & they are all loved, I can’t imagine hating your flesh and blood because of rape. And as a nurse for many years, I have never seen an incident where abortion saved the [life] of someone, also, too many legal abortions made my friend sterile.
Evi shared her thoughts and feelings because she had recently viewed ALL’s inspiring video, Baby Steps.
Here’s another YouTube comment regarding the same video:
[Abortion is] NOT just a spiritual issue, it is a moral issue. If the “blob” growing in you is not a human being deserving of every chance at life, what is it? A dog, an elephant, insect, alien being from another planet? “It” is a [preborn] human being, growing in a safe environment that needs to be protected, just like my pre-teen kids need protection but at a different level. Why is that so difficult to understand? No one has the right to take the life of another human being under any pretext.
Evi’s comment speaks volumes about the courageous and thoughtful women we never hear about when we pay attention to the popular media that literally smothers us with disinformation. To have been violated by such a criminal act and, at the same time, understand that the child is innocent requires remarkable insight.
We must remember that the preborn child whose father is a rapist committed no crime and should not die because of the sins of his father. If such abortions were justified, some of our best pro-life activists would not be alive today to fight for the human rights of the preborn.
The second valid point Evi makes is that, in her professional experience as a nurse, she has never seen a mother’s life saved by killing that mother’s preborn child.
Agreed. As a matter of fact, in 1967 Dr. Alan Guttmacher himself, one of the founders of Planned Parenthood, said, “Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffers from a fatal illness such as cancer or leukemia, and if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save life.”
We are thankful for those who take the time to extend their insights to us in the many ways provided by popular alternative media including YouTube.
May these men and women continue to write comments and share their perspectives with the misguided in our midst. Baby Steps is but one way to open the pathway of conscience to intellectual honesty so that the truth can be seen for what it really is.
Let the children live! Personhood now!
