Abortion Oxymoron Cannot Stand

By Judie Brown

Looking beyond the landscape of pro-life media, we find a world of detestation, fabrication, and downright hypocrisy. We see this all around us and most recently with a female member of Congress who equates the act of aborting a child with justice. If there ever were an oxymoron, this is it.

This woman parrots the sentiments of organizations like the National Women’s Law Center, which has never been a bastion of pro-life philosophy.

Her name? Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, and her many passions include the so-called right to abort a preborn child. She calls this heinous act “abortion care” and suggests that it is a human right, much like freedom of speech. As her website tells the visitor, she has “successfully expanded access to abortion medications and birth control and worked closely with the Secretary of Health and Human Services to use every tool available to protect families and providers who need abortion care. Everyone in this nation should have access to the care they need.”

Her words belie the personal philosophy of a woman who honestly believes that killing babies is just another healthcare option. Her public benevolence is ensconced in a charade of suggestions that leads the unaware individual to surmise that such things as abortion and birth control are humanitarian necessities. Yet we know the truth that such practices violate nature and impose deadly harm on certain human beings simply because they are not yet born.

This callous disregard for truth is not Pressley’s exclusive province, yet it is just one more example of the growing mechanism of deceit some call civil dialogue. While Pressley says that abortion is a basic human right, her words are steeped in bias and ideological buffoonery. By suggesting that America is only a just nation when babies are legally killed by their mothers, she is parroting the abortion party line not communicating common sense. Pressley says women should be able to “to pursue abortion care and to do so without fear, without shame, and without systemic barriers,” but what she means is that in our day abortion has become so commonplace that the act is as acceptable as medically treating an infection.

Such a loathsome defense of killing babies is not surprising, but it is a sadistic example of the scourge of deception and half-truth that affects American attitudes, politics in particular.

Even the politicians who say they are pro-life seem to find more than enough reasons to defend killing the babies.

To confirm this, we need only listen to American Life League’s national director Katie Xavios, who points out that Trump’s proposed “big, beautiful bill” “is not the full win it’s portrayed to be.” She continues:

As written, the House-approved “big, beautiful bill” will still fund Planned Parenthood for abortions in the cases of rape, incest, and the mother’s health. Give Planned Parenthood an inch, and it will take a mile. If the exceptions are the only way Planned Parenthood will get paid, you better believe that every abortion will now become a life-or-death situation so that Planned Parenthood ensures that it will get its money.

This exception clause will still allow for the murder of millions, and with a save-some-not-save-all mentality we will never see the total protection of preborn children. If they can justify the murder of one baby, they can justify the murder of many. As pro-life advocates, we must set the bar higher.

These facts suggest that our nation is no less abortion-thirsty than it has ever been, regardless of the big, beautiful lies and the rantings of those who favor abortion. In fact, a recently published report confirms the fact that the abortion rate continues to rise, even after the Supreme Court Dobbs decision! Note, “Researchers cannot definitively calculate how many abortions occurred because there’s no federal abortion reporting requirement and there’s no verifiable way to track certain abortions, such as abortion drugs mailed into the U.S. by foreign abortion organizations.”

So, while the Pressleys and Trumps of our world are seeking innovative ways to mainstream abortion, it is astounding that there is nobody on either side of this deadly discussion who even knows how many children have died during this decriminalized catastrophe.

Legally sanctioned abortion cannot stand!
