As the October Synod on the Family rapidly approaches, American Life League continues to sound the rallying cry that any discussion on modern challenges facing the family should include Planned Parenthood. The guiding document for the synod is titled “The Pastoral Challenges of the Family in the Context of Evangelization.” In Part III, Chapter II, The Church and the Family Facing the Challenge of Upbringing, the document says, “The upbringing of children, consisting in a total and complete introduction to all aspects of life, particularly living in society, is the primary responsibility of parents, which the State must respect, protect and promote.”
In this context, we can see many obstacles in modern society as influenced by Planned Parenthood sex education programs. For instance, Planned Parenthood’s web page “Talking to Kids about Sex and Sexuality” has a question and answer section on how to talk to children about sexual matters. In the answer to the question “What Are Some Questions Elementary Schoolers Ask?” Planned Parenthood says,
Here are a few examples of questions elementary school-aged kids commonly ask and some possible answers:
Q. Is it okay to touch yourself?
A. Sure, it’s okay. It feels good to touch ourselves, but we should only touch ourselves in private.
Following Planned Parenthood’s lead, a school district in Las Vegas is actually considering whether it should teach five-year-olds how to masturbate. The connection is not tenuous by any means! A Las Vegas news station identified the curriculum being considered for Clark County public schools. The curriculum is called “Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education: 3rd Edition.” Page five of the document says: “The Guidelines, developed by a national task force of experts in the fields of adolescent development, health care, and education, provide a framework of the key concepts, topics, and messages that all sexuality education programs would ideally include” (emphasis added). Page six identifies three Planned Parenthood executives as members of the original guidelines task force: Michael McGee, Planned Parenthood Federation of America Vice President for Education; Trish Moylan Torruella, Director of Education for Planned Parenthood Federation of America; and Peggy Brick, Director of Planned Parenthood of Greater New Jersey’s Center for Family Life Education. Page seven indicates that Maureen A. Kelly, Vice President of Education and Training at Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes, is a member of the third edition review panel of the curriculum. In short, this push to teach five-year-olds about masturbation in public schools in Las Vegas was developed by Planned Parenthood, plain and simple.
But Planned Parenthood’s influences aren’t merely through official channels, like school systems. Even parents have been infected with Planned Parenthood’s line of sexual indoctrination. It’s been reported that a mother recently attempted to bring “vagina cookies” to a second grade class as a form of education for the students. As I pointed out in Hooking Kids on Sex, my exposé of Planned Parenthood’s sexual indoctrination programs, two years ago, Planned Parenthood is obsessed with genital-shaped baked goods.
It’s for reasons like these, and many others, that American Life League launched the Defend the Family campaign. Please join us in prayer as we encourage the Synod on the Family to recommend to our Holy Father that he consider officially declaring Planned Parenthood an enemy of families and the Church. It truly is!
