Planned Parenthood Asks: ‘Why Is It That Sex Ed Isn’t a Part of the Common Core?’

By Rita Diller

Planned Parenthood is pulling out all the stops to ensure that its “comprehensive sex education” is required in schools for children beginning in Kindergarten. Planned Parenthood was, in fact, a hidden partner in the writing of the National Sexuality Education Standards put together by the Future of Sex Education coalition, as American Life League has often reported. Those standards are already being put into place in schools in such unlikely places as Lawrence, Kansas. They are also ready to be incorporated quietly into Common Core, when parents have been sufficiently miseducated about them.

So it came as no surprise when Planned Parenthood recently tweeted the question: “Sex is something that is common to most humans, but why is it that #SexEd isn’t a part of the Common Core?”

The tweet links to a Pacific Standard article by Alice Dreger that reiterates the question, saying that sex instruction is more important than Shakespeare or algebra to mold kids into “functioning adults.” It even offers a “sample curriculum.” Dreger calls for such things as 3D male and female genitalia models for kids “complete with plastic pubic hair,” so that kids will know what they are looking at if they are ever face to face with a real one. Yes, the author said that.

It eventually gets to the real essence of PP sex education, saying that young children should be taught that sex is mostly for the sake of pleasure. In a related article, the author boasts of telling her elementary age son that if sex was just for making babies, there wouldn’t be much of it going on.

According to the author’s bio, Dreger is an American bioethicist and professor of clinical medical humanities and bioethics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. She authored a soon-to-be-released book, Galileo’s Middle Finger: Heretics, Activists, and the Search for Justice in Science.

This is Planned Parenthood’s vision for our children. The national standards, or an even more radical version of them, lie in wait for our children and will be quietly injected into the Common Core when parents are no longer looking. It is time for parents to pull out all the stops and get Planned Parenthood sex instruction out of our schools.
