On Tuesday, September 1, the Center for Medical Progress released its ninth video which showed, once again, the horrors of Planned Parenthood’s procedures. This continual reinforcement of the depth of PP’s depravity is hard to watch and understand, but it remains important to view and share, as the government fiscal year ends September 30, and funding for PP and its extremist abortion policies are at stake.
The most recent shocking video introduces Perrin Larton, the procurement manager for PP’s baby parts vendor Advanced Bioscience Resources, and includes others that have appeared previously, such as Dr. Katharine Sheehan, the former medical director of PP Pacific Southwest; and Cate Dyer, the CEO of StemExpress. Dr. Sheehan explained that they have been using Advanced Bioscience Resources “for over 10 years, a really long time, so we just kind of renegotiated their contract. They’re doing the collections . . . government-level collections and things like that.” But when the investigators in the video put on their salesmen hats and mentioned that they return a portion of their fees back to the clinic, Dr. Sheehan clearly appeared to enjoy the idea of a profit for PP.
But unfortunately, we already know that the most important thing to PP is the bottom dollar, not human life or dignity. What really made me uneasy about this video was how Larton discussed the practice of harvesting fetal tissue. She sounds like a vulture when talking about how her team goes to the clinic and waits outside the operating room doors to have first pick of the baby parts they need.
Larton also explained that “I literally have had women come in and they’ll go in the O.R. and they’re back out in 3 minutes, and I’m going, ‘What’s going on?’ [indicating that someone replied] ‘Oh yeah, the fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups, it just fell out.’” In this situation, the baby was intact and they were able to collect the parts needed whole and not damaged in any way by the abortion process.
While such narratives can be heartbreakingly difficult to watch or even fathom, as these videos continue to surface, we see a rekindled fire within the pro-life community for standing up against the abortion giant. Our ultimate goal is to win the fight to defund Planned Parenthood and protect the lives of those who need our help the most.
This win could be closer than we think, since the government fiscal year ends September 30, and the U.S. House of Representatives will reportedly vote to defund Planned Parenthood soon. The House is deciding whether to vote on a continuing resolution or omnibus appropriations bill for fiscal year 2016 that could permanently defund PP. The rising attention has clearly created an impetus for Congress to act against funding such terrible acts and such a depraved organization. We must do our part to ensure that our congressmen and senators do not miss the opportunity to defend human life!
Call or write your senators and congressmen and respectfully ask them to stop sending our taxpayer money to an organization that lies, cheats, and murders preborn babies.
