You Are Called
“Give us the grace – when the sacredness of life before birth is attacked, to stand up and proclaim that no one ever has the authority to destroy unborn life.”
St. John Paul II proclaimed this statement to defend preborn babies. When God creates a human life, He has a special purpose for you. God’s hope for the baby’s life is stopped when you abort a child. A soul makes you a human, so preborn babies need the same respect of all living people. This is important, because a soul with a special quest wants a chance to succeed. Preborn babies deserve to live because they have a soul and are made in the image of God.
A preborn baby is just like you and me, because he or she has a soul. According to the Catechism, the soul is a spiritual part of man, the source of his life. The soul is the light that came from God and is the closest connection we have with God. A preborn baby and I have many things in common, such as a heartbeat, a soul, and feelings of pain and suffering. But unlike me, a preborn baby is little and cannot defend himself. Because the preborn baby cannot speak, we need to speak for him and defend his life. Everyone deserves a chance to live, which means abortion is misguided. Don’t forget a preborn baby has a soul just like you and me.
Because the baby is made in the image of God, he is similar to other people. God made the baby for a special mission. God could never replace any immortal soul for another, and that is why it is so important to give the baby a chance to fulfill the quest that God gave him here on earth. Knowing God inspires goodness. Loving God and being grateful for all His gifts brings us to want to give up everything for Him. He wants to share heaven with us. Always remember a preborn baby is made in God’s image.
Preborn babies must have our respect because they are made in the image of God and have a soul. The soul of each person is sacred. A chance to complete the special mission that God intended for each soul is important, so we need to respect all life. Also, God created each person in His image to help us remember we need to help each other understand that all human life is sacred. In the inspiring words of St. John Paul II, “You are called to stand up for life! To respect and defend the mystery of life always and everywhere, including the lives of unborn babies, giving real help and encouragement to mothers in difficult situations. You are called to work and pray against abortion.”
