ACTION ALERT Planned Parenthood and Pro-Abort Media Unleash Withering Attack on Komen Over De-funding

American Life League published research last summer revealing that Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliates had awarded $629,159 to Planned Parenthood Federation of America affiliates for “breast health.”   However, it has since been revealed that the only “breast health service” Planned Parenthood facilities are qualified to provide is the same manual exam most women do at home in their shower–not mammograms, as Cecile Richards, president of PPFA, had falsely claimed in public statements.

Then Congressman Stearns launched a congressional investigation as more PPFA affiliates came under investigation in the states.  All this helped bring matters to a boil.  

Komen announced this week that it will no longer fund Planned Parenthood, due in part to its new grants policy that denies funds to organizations that are under investigation at the federal, state, or local level as is PPFA and multiple affiliates.

PP Let’s Loose the Dogs of War

In media releases, statements, e-mail campaigns, postings on social media such as Facebook, an onslaught from liberal media, 22 pro-abortion U.S. Senators and other Planned Parenthood operatives are lashing back at Komen in what appears to be a coordinated effort to bludgeon the respected nonprofit into backing down on its decision.

To be clear, Komen has not announced a pro-life policy, but it has moved to  an abortion-neutral position. But, Planned Parenthood sees the writing on the wall: If Komen was forced to cut ties due to Planned Parenthood’s mounting pile of dirty laundry and deteriorating brand, who might abandon the sinking ship next?

What Action You Need to Take

Komen needs to be supported in its decision to stop funding Planned Parenthood. To aid in this effort, American Life League is coordinating with all major pro-life groups across the country. Please do the following today:

1. Send an e-mail to news@komen.org and tell Komen it has done the right thing by getting out of the culture wars and refocusing on its primary mission, which is saving women’s lives.
2. Post your support on Komen’s Facebook wall at https://www.facebook.com/susangkomenforthecure?sk=wall  
3. Use your own Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as other social media sites, to spread the word. Don’t let Planned Parenthood bully Komen.

Let Komen and the media know you support the decision to stop buying health care at an abortion store!
