Vatican Synod on the Family encouraged to
address issue of Planned Parenthood
Washington, DC—-As the Catholic world prepares for the Extraordinary Synod on the Family that begins in Rome in two weeks, American Life League pointed out today in a written commentary that part of the discussion needs to revolve around Planned Parenthood. The synod’s working document, The Pastoral Challenges of the Family in the Context of Evangelization, contains several logical points of entry for this discussion to happen. The first of these entry points is an examination of forces that cause “external pressure” on families.
Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League, stated, “There is no organization that creates more external pressure on families than Planned Parenthood. If the synod would recommend that International Planned Parenthood Federation, and its country affiliates, be declared an enemy of the Church, it would literally change the world.”
As stated in today’s commentary, Planned Parenthood’s propaganda exerts considerable pressure on families, children included, with the result of killing both the unity of spouses and the lives of their children.
“Planned Parenthood threatens the family at nearly every essential point,” stated Rob Gasper, director of communications for American Life League and author of the commentary. “Planned Parenthood is truly an enemy of the family and of the Church. We pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire the synod to single Planned Parenthood out and name it as such.”
