  • STOPP wrote letters to two attorneys general asking them to criminalize the abortion pill.
  • Planned Parenthood is pushing for legislation to protect the anonymity of abortionists in several states.

American Life League’s STOPP program issued powerful letters to Texas attorney general Ken Paxton and Arkansas attorney general Tim Griffin, calling for the criminalization of abortion pills to protect preborn lives, women’s health, and the dignity of human life. The letters, penned by ALL national director Katie Brown Xavios, address the alarming rise in illegal abortion pill distribution and commend Paxton’s and Griffin’s recent efforts to combat this crisis.

The letters also highlight findings from ALL’s 2024 report entitled Beneath the Surface: Exposing the Abortion Pill Drug Cartel, which reveals how abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood and networks like Plan C, operate akin to drug cartels by circumventing state laws to illegally distribute abortion pills. These organizations not only supply dangerous drugs without regard for women’s mental or physical health, but they also provide guidance on concealing abortions from medical professionals and families.

ALL’s latest report on Planned Parenthood in “pro-life” states further exposes that the organization’s affiliates generate millions in revenue, with 29 Texas facilities alone contributing to a combined annual total of $130,834,049, despite state abortion restrictions. This underscores the need for stronger action to dismantle the illegal abortion pill networks.

“We fully support Attorney General Paxton’s and Attorney General Griffin’s courageous efforts and urge them to outlaw these deadly drugs to protect the most vulnerable,” said Katie Brown Xavios. “For far too long, abortion networks have skirted state laws to carry out illegal distribution of these pills, and women and their babies pay the price every time. It is time for these criminal abortion rings to be held accountable.”

American Life League’s letters emphasize that mere restrictions on abortion pills are insufficient and that criminalization is necessary to uphold the sanctity of life and ensure justice. The organization has also extended an offer to collaborate with Paxton’s and Griffin’s offices to advance this critical fight. The letters come in response to each state’s attorney general sending cease and desist letters to common abortion pill drug cartels. These cartels go against state law to distribute abortion pills in states where it is illegal to do so.

A local Nevada news source reported last week that Nevada is the next state seeking to keep its abortionists’ identities hidden on prescription bottles for the abortion pill mifepristone. Abortion organizations, including Planned Parenthood, want legislation that protects the identities of abortionists due to supposed physical and political threats. This type of legislation has passed in four other states (New York, Maine, Vermont, and Washington), with two other states (California and Massachusetts) working on passing similar bills.

According to the article, Planned Parenthood’s North Las Vegas Health Center, one of two Planned Parenthoods in Nevada, has seen an increase of women from eight different states who want to obtain abortion drugs. (STOPP has investigated this center and has found that it currently provides abortion pills and contraceptive pills. It does not currently offer surgical abortions like its Reno facility does.) The interview within the article also highlights that the increase of foot and online traffic to obtain abortion pills calls for “protection” of the abortionists’ identities. This removal of the abortion provider’s name leaves them unaccountable and untraceable for any damage done to the preborn babies and their mothers.

While citing threats of violence and the need for safety for these “OBGYNs” who kill babies, we have to wonder, Where is the call from these “medical professionals” to protect the innocent babies in the womb and their mothers?

Nevada’s push for legislation to hide the names of abortionists and the facilities they work at emphasizes the priorities of abortionists to protect themselves from harm and not the women and babies who are affected directly by abortion. As the medical field gains more information about the abortion pill, we see that it can kill both baby and mother, or at the very least, cause serious mental and physical health complications for the mother.

As long as Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers have a say, the lives of preborn children and their mothers are at the disposal of an industry based on lies and self-preservation. This is why we must continually speak out about these atrocities and fight to protect both moms and babies.
