The Abortion-Pill Regimen Claims the Life of a Young Georgia Mom and Her Twin Babies
Liberal media is currently trying to pin a young woman’s sudden death on pro-lifers. The actual cause of her unfortunate death? The abortion pill regimen.
A young Georgia mother, pregnant with twins, traveled to North Carolina to obtain an abortion in 2022. The abortion facility gave her abortion pills (mifepristone and misoprostol) and sent her on her way.
Five days later, she developed an infection due to complications from the abortion.
According to an article from our friends at The Christian Post, doctors at the emergency room in Georgia started Thurman on antibiotics and an IV drip, and an OB-GYN discussed the possibility of performing a dilation and curettage the next day to remove the twins’ remains. The doctors did not perform the procedure the next day but continued administering medication.
By the time doctors took Thurman to the operating room, they learned the young woman’s bowel needed to be removed, but such a procedure was too risky due to lack of blood flow.
An OB-GYN performed the D&C and continued with a hysterectomy, but Thurman’s heart stopped during the surgery. Even pro-abortion outlet ProPublica stated, “It is not clear from the records available why doctors waited to provide a D&C.”
What we have here is a case where abortion pills and negligence from doctors both culminated in the death of a young woman and her twin babies.
The media is trying to spin this narrative to create fear and confusion, but several doctors and lawmakers have already come out to debunk these claims. The Georgia abortion law does not prevent doctors from removing already deceased babies from a mother’s womb.
Sepsis is a known danger of using these deadly pills, but we are willing to bet this young mom was not told that. Just as she never went into the abortion facility for a follow-up visit.
The effects of these abortion pills are largely unknown to the public, but they are dangerous and vastly unregulated thanks to the abortion-loving lawmakers in our country.
Someone always dies when abortion pills are used, but the difference is we don’t see headlines about the millions of preborn babies who pay the ultimate price.
‘Catholics for Harris-Walz’ Coalition Claim Their Ticket Supports Catholic Values
After abruptly canceling their originally scheduled virtual event in August, a coalition called “Catholics for Harris-Walz”held its first open Zoom call on September 18 in an attempt to persuade Catholics to vote for Kamala Harris and her VP running mate Tim Walz in November’s US presidential election.
Of course, the irony of the name “Catholics for Harris-Walz” is not lost on us. Both Harris and Walz have and continue to support abortion at all stages in their policies and campaign goals. Harris was the first vice president to visit a Planned Parenthood, with Walz by her side, and has supported minors who seek to obtain gender hormone drugs and identify as transgender. Harris and Walz support IVF along with targeting and discontinuing funding to pregnancy care centers that offer financial, emotional, and medical resources for pregnant mothers and their children both during and after birth. These actions and promises of the Harris and Walz campaign are just some of their many actions directly contrary to Catholic social teaching on matters of life, family, and the common good.
In a review of the coalition’s meeting, Dr. Anthea Butler spoke on “Catholicism and democracy,” claiming that “Vice President Kamala Harris is the best person, along with Tim Walz, to put us in a place where democracy will stay in place, first of all, and secondarily that we as Catholics will be able to explore and express our faith in ways that are alongside the teachings of the Catholic Church.”
Putting Catholicism secondary to democracy hardly makes sense as a Catholic, let alone the claim that under a Harris administration we will be able to practice our faith in accordance with Church teaching. Other bizarre claims from Butler include that Joe Biden is “faithful to his Catholic tradition,” despite having the most pro-abortion presidential platform at this point, and stating that “Many Haitians believe in the Church and all of the tenets of the Catholic Church. . . . Whether they are immigrants or citizens, we need to be respectful of that. But more importantly, we need to represent the dignity of the human person.” While this statement in and of itself is correct, Butler neglected to include the dignity of the preborn persons destroyed through IVF and abortion, things which Harris and Walz are campaigning heavily to keep as legal and “safe.”
With groups such as this coalition and “Catholics for Kamala,” we truly need to educate and pray for our fellow Catholics who are considering voting for candidates who promote the death of the most vulnerable and innocent for their power and profit. We also urge our clergy and bishops to stand up and remind Catholics the non-negotiables of voting for political candidates.
ALL in the News
STOPP’s latest press release highlighted several of Planned Parenthood’s obscene sex-ed programs across the nation. The story called both parents and schools to action, as it was featured in several media outlets this week. ALL national director Katie Brown interviewed with One America News Network’s show Tipping Point on Tuesday night to discuss the story. She also spoke with American Family News and From the Median.
STOPP’s research and Katie’s analysis appeared in articles from The Washington Stand, Live Action, Faith on Trial, and Pregnancy Help News.
Susan Ciancio, editor of Celebrate Life Magazine and director of the Culture of Life Studies Program—ALL’s pre-K-12 pro-life education program—wrote an article asking why more Catholic clergy are not speaking out about pro-abortion amendments. It was featured on LifeSiteNews this week. She also wrote an article expressing the beauty of how saints serve as holy role models for children.

October is both the Month of the Rosary and Respect Life Month. The rosary is an incredibly powerful spiritual weapon as we call upon our Blessed Mother to intercede for us and to help create a culture of life. Jesus commanded us all to evangelize to others. Placing a bumper sticker on your car or in some other visible place is an impactful way to make others think and to remind them to pray. This is especially needed as we grow closer to the election. It Isn’t About Ending a Pregnancy, It’s about a Dead Baby
A Georgia mom was sent home with abortion pills. No ultrasound was given. There was no follow-up appointment. And she died days later from sepsis.
This is what “care, no matter what” looks like. The abortionist had no regard for the well-being of the mother (or her twin babies). The woman was just sent on her way with these pills and left to fend for herself. See the story below.
Let’s get this straight. A woman and her children died because of the abortion pill and medical negligence… and pro-lifers are the ones to blame? pic.twitter.com/owTzKXvdIX
