It is hard to believe that a state supreme court, in one of the most pro-life states in our nation, would permit Planned Parenthood to keep more than $900,000 in taxpayers' dollars. But in fact that is precisely what the Missouri Supreme Court ruled a few days ago.
For several years the pro-life legislators in the state had worked to prevent Planned Parenthood from receiving grants because of their pro-abortion efforts. In fact, in 2005, a Cole County circuit judge ruled that the state health department wrongly gave the money to Planned Parenthood.
But true to its colors and enormously deep pockets, Planned Parenthood fought on and won. What a sad day for tax payers in Missouri and particularly for the preborn citizens of that great state.
