Week in Review – Immoral America—from killing babies to college sponsored naked runs
This week, the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments on a challenge to a Louisiana law that requires abortionists in the state to have admitting privileges at a local hospital (June Medical Services v. Russo). In the arguments, the pro-abortion folks argued that the Louisiana law was the same as the one SCOTUS overturned in 2016 and should be struck down. Questioning from the justices centered, in part, on whether it could be possible that different states could justify or not justify laws based on the state’s particular circumstances. Both sides agreed that it was possible. There was no indication of how the justices would vote and their decision is not expected to be announced until June. Many court observers are predicting a split court, with Chief Justice Roberts being the deciding factor. Both the recording of the oral arguments and a transcript will be available herewithin the next week.
This week, the Ohio senate passed a ban on telemedicine abortions, bringing the state closer to becoming the 19thstate banning the procedure. As the number of physical abortion facilities close across the country, those who encourage women to end their pregnancies by killing their child through medical abortions are seeking more ways to get the killing drugs to the women. The idea of telemedicine abortions came from Planned Parenthood Heartland and is spreading across the country. Laws banning the procedure are being enacted. According to a Guttmacher report, 18 states currently ban telemedicine abortions (AL, AR, AZ, IN, KY, LA, MS, MO, NC, NE, ND, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, WI, and WV).
Members of the Christian community have joined together in a number of places to form the Church at Planned Parenthood. As its website explains, “The Church at Planned Parenthood is NOT a protest. It’s a worship service at the gates of Hell. The Church at Planned Parenthood is a gathering of Christians for the worship of God and the corporate prayer for repentance for this nation, repentance for the apathetic church and repentance of our blood guiltiness in this abortion holocaust.” Having this outdoor Christian worship service near its building in Spokane (WA) has really bothered Planned Parenthood. This week, at Planned Parenthood’s bidding, the Spokane City Council adopted a new noise ordinance to try and reduce the volume of the worship services. Leaders of the Church at Planned Parenthood have said they will continue to praise God in worship and song.
Each week, many articles on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) cross our desks here at American Life League. CSE is pushed by Planned Parenthood across the country. In short, CSE is an effort to get content into just about every subject in the curriculum of high school and colleges with the intent of sexualizing our children. One of the articles we received this week was from the student newspaper at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. An article in the paper, The Denisonian, caught our attention. It was about PSE—Peer Sexuality Education. According to the story, the founder of the PSE program on campus is also the president of Denisonians for Planned Parenthood (DPP). She explained that student educators would learn the curriculum from a professional Planned Parenthood sex educator who travels in greater Ohio high schools. Then they will share information with their peers. In addition, DPP is planning to use YouTube videos from established sex education providers and also workshops with Planned Parenthood and the Title IX coordinator. These PSE programs are not new and PP has been pushing them for years, but the Denison University effort is particularly aggressive. As we glanced at an earlier issue of the paper, we were caught by a story headlined: Naked Week encourages body positivity. That article explains: “For those who do not know (looking at you first-years), Naked Week is exactly what it sounds like. A group of students participate in runs around campus without wearing any clothing to promote body positivity.” After you finish getting your children through the trials of high school, please be very careful about the college to which you send them. As illustrated here, Planned Parenthood is still pushing its perverted ideas of sex on university campuses.

This week, Judie Brown published a commentary entitled “What Is Freedom?” where she discusses the traps and misconceptions women live under when they partake in abortion and contraception. She points out there is absolutely nothing freeing about abortion or contraception, though the media would like to label childrearing as a form of slavery. Primary season is here and depending on where you live, you’ll be voting in a few primaries in the next few weeks. We have an obligation to participate in civic life. Responsible citizenship requires it. And when it comes to considering who is worthy of office we have to vote with Christ at our side.
Below are four things you need to know before entering the voting booth.
Action Item of the Week – Will you help end a crisis fueled by abortion?
It has become clear that the United States of America is approaching (if not already in) a constitutional crisis. Under our Constitution, our federal government has three separate and equal branches—the Executive branch (the president and all the various government agencies); the Legislative branch (Congress and all the state and local elected officials); and the Judicial branch (the Supreme Court and all the various court systems across the country). Since the presidential election of 2016, it has become apparent that Congress has no respect for the executive branch. Doing everything in its power to try to stage what can only be described as a parliamentary coup, it has been trying to get rid of the president by various means, including impeachment.
Now, Congress has turned its animosity on the judicial branch of our government. During this week’s Supreme Court oral hearings on the Louisiana abortion law, Senate minority leader, Chuck Schumer, threatened two Supreme Court justices. As reported by the Washington Times, “Standing outside the Supreme Court with abortion rights proponents, the New York Democrat railed against Justice Neil M. Gorsuch and Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh. Mr. Schumer issued a menacing warning for the Trump-appointed justices, which was captured on video shared online by Jorge Bonilla, MRC Latino director: ‘I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,’ Mr. Schumer said. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
This statement by Schumer received an immediate response by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He said: “This morning, Senator Schumer spoke at a rally in front of the Supreme Court while a case was being argued inside. Senator Schumer referred to two Members of the Court by name and said he wanted to tell them that “You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You will not know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous. All Members of the Court will continue to do their job, without fear or favor, from whatever quarter.”
To put this all in some perspective, Schumer issued his threat at a pro-abortion rally. He is worried that these justices are going to do the right thing and vote to end abortions. So he issued this threat. Remember, Supreme Court justices can be impeached by the House, just as presidents can.
The pro-abortion forces in this nation are scared. The Devil, himself, is worried that he may not be able to legally kill God’s children in America. In a bit of irony, it appears, after Super Tuesday, that he is planning to get a pro-abortion “Catholic” elected.
What can you do? Well, you have complete control. Members of the Senate are ELECTED. Members of the House are ELECTED. The president is ELECTED.
It is YOU, and millions like you, who will make the decision on where this country goes on abortion. First, understand that, at its roots, this is a spiritual battle. We need you to pray for the babies and our society. We need you to join the Marian Blue Wave and get others to join with you.
Then YOU can rally your friends. Rally your family. Rally your community. Make a difference in November. Let’s find truly pro-life candidates in every party and get them elected.
Just as important, let’s defeat every pro-abortion candidate from every party. Let’s especially look to defeat every pro-abortion candidate who claims to be Catholic! And, let’s be clear—your candidates are either pro-life or pro-abortion. “Pro-choice” is pro-abortion. It’s 2020. It’s long past the time to put an end to the killing of God’s children.
This is the first week of March. The elections take place the first week of November. You have nine months to end the slaughter of the innocents.

Pro-life Social Media – Fake news abounds in abortion advocacy
Fake news abounds in abortion advocacy—from embryology to fetology, from statistics to demographics. But the pro-life movement isn’t immune to sharing imagesand social media stories without pausing a moment to vet the information.
Last week we covered the story of a viral TikTok video showing two girls laughing about going to Planned Parenthood for an abortion. The video is still getting attention on social media and conservative websites. Many pro-lifers frame the story as documenting an actual abortion.

Pro-life advocates were quick to denounce how nonchalant the girls treated the execution of a preborn human child, and rightfully so. However, a close inspection of the clips within the video leads us to believe that the girl ‘joking and filming her abortion’ isn’t documenting a murder, but staging one for clicks and laughs.
The TikTok user geotags one clip as Pasadena, CA. This indicates the Planned Parenthood is operated by Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley, Inc.Comparing the storefront of the Planned Parenthood that appears in the video with the facilities operated by the affiliate puts the TikTok user outside of its Eagle Rock Health Center of Los Angeles, CA.

According to Planned Parenthood Pasadena’s website, this facility offers abortion referrals, not “abortion care.”
It wouldn’t surprise us if Planned Parenthood abandoned state and federal health standards in the commission of killing a preborn child, but we’ll just presume that PP isn’t currently practicing abortions in hoodies and blue-jeans. Below are two video frames merged together to provide a better perspective of the examination.
No surgical equipment. No scrubs. In all likelihood, the woman on the examination table is getting nothing more than a sonogram. This is typical after a positive pregnancy test. Clinicians do this to measure how far into the pregnancy the mother is. And if you’ve ever been into an ultrasound facility, the rooms are dimly lit compared with the bright lights of a surgical room.
Pro-life activists seemed most horrified by the last shot, which appears to show the fetus being “sucked” out of the image. But pregnancy at this stage, which could be between 6 to 8 weeks, requires a transvaginal ultrasound. Babies this developed can and do move around in the amniotic fluid. When the person recording the ultrasound image pointed her phone at the screen, more than likely, the baby moved out of ultrasound range, giving the appearance of being sucked out.
We’ve never heard of a Planned Parenthood policy allowing customers and their guests to record in abortion rooms, let alone would an abortionist be willing to make a cameo in someone’s humorous TikTok video. However, ultrasound room operators do.
As pro-life advocates we already have truth on our side. Let’s not be gullible and lose credibility by falling victim to social media pranks.
Sadly, we cannot presume from the video what the mother intends to do about her pregnancy. She is never captured on video looking at her ultrasound. It is entirely possible that she is abortion-minded and given a referral to a Planned Parenthood that will abort her baby. We need to pray for this mother and her baby, that she will choose what is right. And maybe in a few months she will re-emerge having chosen life for her baby.
