The state of California has always been a hotbed of activity for Planned Parenthood. As I write this, there are 106 Planned Parenthood medical facilities there. That is 17 percent of all the Planned Parenthood clinics in the country. According to data published by the California Planned Parenthood Action Fund, 850,000 of Planned Parenthood’s 2.4 million nationwide customers are in California. That is a whopping 35 percent of all Planned Parenthood clients.
Of course, the political atmosphere in California is almost totally pro-abortion and pro-Planned Parenthood. We simply have to look at the persecution of David Daleiden, Sandra Merritt, and the good people of the Center for Medical Progress to understand the problems.
The use of taxpayer money in the state is also abhorrent. Over and above the standard government programs that fund groups like Planned Parenthood across the country, California has added its own special programs. In the California version of Medicaid (called Medi-Cal) the state pays for all abortions of women who are eligible for Medicaid. In addition, the state has another program, Family PACT, that actually gives more money to Planned Parenthood in the state than what PP receives from Medicaid.
Altogether, Planned Parenthood affiliates in California receive 73 percent of their income from taxpayers. This compares with PP receiving 41 percent of its income from taxpayers nationwide.
Recently, ambitious politicians in California have announced a new way of funneling cash to Planned Parenthood and other groups. This week, California state treasurer John Chiang, who has already said he will run for governor in 2018, announced that the state will give grants totaling $20 million for community clinics that serve low-income and vulnerable Californians.
Planned Parenthood is excited about the new money stream. Greg Cramer, a legislative analyst with Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, said any money is crucial in helping keep clinic doors open. According to Cramer, some clinics need the money just to retain staff and keep operating. He stated: “I think our focus would be to keep doors open. . . . We’ve had to lay off staff across the state. If these funds were there, maybe we could have kept more staff on board, at least a little longer.”
CBS Sacramento reported:
In Northern California, budget problems forced the closure of three Planned Parenthood clinics in recent weeks, but clinicians worry hundreds of facilities face the same fate.
“Many are on the cusp of closing,” said Planned Parenthood CEO Kathy Kneer.
A future without federal funding would be crippling.
“We have to get a fair reimbursement for the services we provide, otherwise women won’t have a place to go,” she said.
Did you get that? “A fair reimbursement”? All Planned Parenthood wants is “a fair reimbursement”!
After all, with the current “unfair” reimbursement, the CEOs of the California affiliates only made an average of $350,000 a year. How can we expect them to live on that? And even after paying over $2.2 million a year to the CEOs, the Planned Parenthood affiliates in California only had an excess income of $10.2 million! I mean, how are they ever going to afford those Lamborghinis?
Planned Parenthood uses the problems and heartbreaks of truly poor people to lobby and demand more money for itself. But in reality PP does not care about poor people. If it did, it would subsidize the three clinics it’s closing in Northern California.
Planned Parenthood is about money! More money! More money!
Planned Parenthood is a money grubbing monster that kills over 300,000 babies a year and draws millions of teens into devastating sexual encounters just to fill its coffers. Sooner or later, the politicians in California and around the nation will see the truth: The emperor has no clothes.
Planned Parenthood is a scam. If the folks in Hollywood want to make a movie about Planned Parenthood, they can call it The Sting. After all, those in Planned Parenthood leadership are already trained as professional grifters—adept at working the Big Con.
Planned Parenthood’s current problems are, in some ways, the result of it forgetting one of the basic rules of con men. Once you get the money, you’ve got to get out of town before the mark realizes he has been taken.
Well, the marks (American taxpayers) have finally caught on. Soon, even the politicians will come face-to-face with the reality of the con artist and will banish these Planned Parenthood grifters to the streets of despair where they will futilely try to scrape some cash together playing three-card monte.
