Week in Review – This Insurance Company Wants to Pay for Births and Adoptions—NOT Abortions
In the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, more than sixty well-known corporations have publicly announced they will fund their employees’ travel and medical costs to obtain an abortion.
Instead of offering paid maternity leave, covering medical bills after delivery, or financial help during an adoption process, these companies have decided to take the cheap and evil route of offering to pay for a hired hit man—paying for a mother to have her child murdered.
Fortunately, not all companies have gone this route. In fact, one has gone in the complete opposite direction.
Buffer Insurance, a veteran-owned insurance provider in Texas has responded to corporate abortion funding by offering to pay for employees’ parental leave and adoption costs.
On June 27, three days after the SCOTUS ruling, Buffer posted their response to Dobbs on Facebook.
The company stated:
- Buffer will pay the medical costs for our employees who birth babies
- Provide paid time off for employees to have maternity & paternity leave
- Buffer will pay for the medical costs associated with adopting a baby
The company went a step further, saying that if other employers would like to add these policies to their own handbook, Buffer will help them do so.
In an interview with the Christian Post, Buffer president Sean Turner said: “After the overturn of Roe v. Wade, we took the opposite stance that these big corporations are making, and they’re making it easier for people to abort their babies. We want to make it easy for employees to grow their families.”
ALL in the News – ALL Places an Ad in CMA’s The Pulse; Hugh Brown Guest on Pro-America Report; CLM Blog Advertises Crisis Pregnancy Centers
In the Catholic Medical Association summer issue of The Pulse, ALL placed an ad advocating the saving of babies from abortion violence in all cases—even in life of the mother.
This week, Hugh Brown, ALL executive vice president, was a guest on the Pro-America Report with host Ed Martin. Hugh discussed the recent SCOTUS ruling on Roe and the effects it will have on America.
Once a week, ALL’s Celebrate Life Magazine posts an editor’s blog on its website. The content can range from helpful advice to deep dives into current events. This week’s blog discussed the many ways the pro-life movement is ready to help moms in need. The article was featured as an exclusive by LifeSiteNews.
The bi-monthly STOPP report was released last Wednesday. The report featured a breakdown of the aftermath of Dobbsand the effects it is already having on Planned Parenthood.
Every Friday, ALL executive vice president Hugh Brown hosts a talk-radio show on the Radio Maria USA network. The show is a continuance of Jim Sedlak’s Pro-Life Activism from Creation to Death and can be heard live every Friday at noon (ET). Each show features an update on what is happening in the pro-life world and frequently guests will appear on the show to provide first-hand updates and experiences.
Twice a week, Judie’s commentaries are distributed to an expansive media list. The list contains over 100 media outlets, such as Fox News, The Federalist, Breitbart, and The Daily Caller, among others. Judie’s commentaries are each featured on the front page of ALL.org. Each commentary is also featured as a part of Judie’s recurring column on Renew America.
Video of the Week – Associated Press, in its coverage of post-Roe reflections by pro-life groups, gave equal time to American Life League.
We’re thankful that the Associated Press, in its coverage of post-Roe reflections by pro-life groups, gave equal time to American Life League. Portions of that interview give clarity that overturning Roe is not the overturning of decriminalized murder.
Action Item of the Week – Pro-Life Education? Yes, please!
In the wake of Dobbs, we cannot deny the fact that society needs life affirming education now more than ever. That’s where the Culture of Life Studies Program, or CLSP as we like to call it, comes in.
The Culture of Life Studies Program provides Catholic pro-life home and classroom materials, resources, and trainings to educators, schools, and dioceses equipping them to help younger generations bring an end to abortion and other threats against human beings, preserve the sanctity of marriage, and restore the kingdom of heaven on earth.
Our vision is to create a world in which God’s word is resolutely proclaimed and willingly embraced; the institutions of sacramental marriage and family are protected and fostered; and all human life is treated with respect, dignity, and love from the moment of creation until death.
For more information and to view available teaching materials, visit the CLSP website here.
Pro-life Social Media – Here is My 0%; Mom’s Photos Proves ‘Medical Experts’ Wrong
This column can seem like a profile in the latest of crazy or demonic opinions getting posted across social media. Occasionally, miracles scroll across our timeline that are too good not to share.
My water broke at 22 weeks 1 day (this is called PPROM.) Many women are told that this situation means “0% chance of survival” and/or “no quality of life if the baby survives” and/or “termination is the only option.”

None of the above is true. Here is my 0% pic.twitter.com/nVW0N2ICQt
What an amazing little man. Other moms shared their stories.
I was told this and both my twins are perfectly healthy. I ruptured at 12 weeks. They were born a day shy of 27! DOCS GOT IT WRONG. Thank you for not giving up on them. <3

I was told on the operating table during my 28 week emergency C-Section there was a 98% chance one of us wasn’t going to make it. I had to choose which one of us they should save. I chose my son. He was 2lb. 10oz. And today he’s an amazing 5 yr old. pic.twitter.com/skVsr1kNZm

My water broke at 20 weeks. Was told termination would be best, or I could wait for labor, deliver an unviable child, and then “try again” in the future.

Legally blind but an absolute joy.Bales hay everyday and loves like only we wish we could. Real mom hasn’t seen him in 24yrs pic.twitter.com/574NeQ2EeS

Many critics jumped into the conversation to make the pro-abortion talking point, “At least you had a choice.”
You had a CHOICE. You made the choice, it wasn’t made for you by the government. Why do you want to force YOUR choice on all women, and believe that others want you to have no choice but abortion? No one is forcing abortions, just allowing women to make their own choices.
— Israel Hill (@israelhill) June 30, 2022
This criticism misses the point of the original post. Medical experts are giving termination advice; that advice is wrong. Every child deserves a fighting chance; some will win, others will lose. Murdering them removes the chances of miracles.
Our advice: When a doctor suggests killing your preborn child as an option . . . get a new doctor. Doctors don’t kill kids.
