Pro-Life This Week – January 29, 2021

Week in Review – Court stacking, gender identity, and rainbow flags at our foreign embassies

In this first month of the Biden administration, there are some things happening that are of concern to pro-lifers as well as other Americans. We will bring you preliminary information so you can decide what happenings are important to you.

Supreme Court: While SCOTUS continues to operate in its normal fashion, the Biden administration is taking steps to determine if changes to SCOTUS are needed. The Blaze reports that “Biden has begun staffing his promised commission to ‘reform’ the Supreme Court and the federal judiciary, an undertaking he vowed in October would go on to address court packing as well as ‘a number of other things’… the commission will be housed under the purview of the White House Counsel’s office and chaired by Biden campaign lawyer Bob Bauer.”

LGBTQ and gender identity: Biden’s Executive Order 13985 specifically lists “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons as one of the classes of individuals who have been denied ‘consistent and systematic fair, just, and impartial treatment.’” The Executive Order says the administration will change that. This was followed by Executive Order 13988: “Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation.” In another example of Biden’s priorities, the Catholic News Agency carried a report on the confirmation by the US Senate of Biden’s nominee for the United States’ Secretary of State, Antony Blinken. The Human Rights Campaign also gave its approval of Blinken, saying, “Antony Blinken will ensure the rights of all LGBTQ people, from every background, are once again a top priority in America’s foreign policy — and that when LGBTQ people abroad are under threat, they can count on the State Department as an ally.” Finally, during his confirmation hearings before members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Blinken said he would allow US embassies to fly rainbow “Pride” flags and would appoint a Special Envoy for LGBTQ issues at the agency.

Abortion and birth control: Immediately following Blinken’s confirmation, Planned Parenthood Global stated its expectation that Blinken’s State Department would be “supporting SRHR [sexual and reproductive health and rights] across foreign policy.” CNS explained that the term “sexual and reproductive health and rights” has been used by the United Nations’ human rights office to refer to a variety of issue areas that include abortioncontraception, and gender ideology.

Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, stated that the organization would work with Blinken “in the days, weeks, and years ahead to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights around the world!”

So, in his first week, Biden has declared by his actions that he will wage war against children created by God by expanding abortion in America and worldwide and will also wage war against the family through his dedication to deviant sexual behavior. You will recall how proud Biden was to “marry” two men in a civil ceremony a few years ago.

ALL in the News – Hugh Brown Calls Out Fraudulent “Catholic” Joe Biden; STOPP Reports Planned Parenthood Took Home $1.6 Billion in Taxpayer Funding Last Year

This week, American Life League vice president Hugh Brown issued a statement in response to President Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki and various liberal media outlets referring to Joe Biden as a “devout Catholic”.  The statement was sent to ALL’s expansive media list. It was reprinted by CNS News.

On Wednesday, the latest STOPP Report was sent out to an expansive list that includes thousands of readers. The headlining story releases new information that reports Planned Parenthood Federation of America received $1.6 billion in taxpayer funding last year

Every Friday afternoon, the American Life League social media team, Dwain Currier and Katie Brown, host the Friday Live Show on Instagram Live. Last week, the duo discussed five ways to “March for Life” every day, and Joe Biden’s pro-abortion “Catholic” poet who attended the inauguration. The show regularly discusses current events and provides young adults a platform where they can have their culture of life questions answered. Replays of the show can be found on Facebook.

Twice a week, Judie Brown’s commentaries are distributed to an expansive media list. The list contains over 100 media outlets such as Fox News, The Federalist, Breitbart, The Daily Caller, among others. Judie’s Tuesday commentary, Bidenized Catholicism, was featured on the front page of ALL.org. Each commentary is also featured as a part of Judie’s recurring column on Renew America

Jim Sedlak’s Pro-Life Activism from Creation to Death is a weekly talk-radio program on the Radio Maria USA network. The show can be heard live every Friday at noon (Eastern Time) and is repeated on Saturdays (10 PM).

Video of the Week – Pro-Abortion Poet Achieves Inauguration Notoriety

Since last Friday’s livestream, the story of President Biden’s inauguration poet has gained tons of coverage in Catholic news, and for good reason. Amanda Gorman, a practicing Catholic in the mold of Joe Biden, stars in a NowThis News video opposing the wave of 2019 abortion limitations put in place by various states.

So, not only can’t you be Catholic and recite pro-abortion poetry, but you can’t be Catholic and invite an abortion violence advocate to your inauguration.

Action Item of the Week – Time to focus on the states

As the world is focused on Washington, DC, and the Biden administration, there is a great deal of activity at the state level concerning abortion. Several news sources have been highlighting activities in states where pro-lifers should be getting involved.

Thomson Reuters Foundation News highlights activities in 19 states, including ARKANSAS, ARIZONA, MONTANA, TEXAS, WYOMING, TENNESSEE, MISSISSIPPI, LOUISIANA, INDIANA, OHIO, KENTUCKY, IOWA, UTAH, IDAHO, PENNSYLVANIA, MISSOURI, ARKANSAS, NORTH DAKOTA, and OKLAHOMA.

The Guttmacher Institute lists 129 pieces of abortion-related legislation that was introduced in 20 states as of January 15, 2021. Those states include ALASKA, ARIZONA, DELAWARE, INDIANA, IOWA, KANSAS, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, MISSOURI, MONTANA, NEBRASKA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, NORTH DAKOTA, SOUTH CAROLINA, SOUTH DAKOTA, TEXAS, VIRGINIA, and WASHINGTON.

We encourage all of our readers to turn your immediate attention away from DC and towards the tremendous number of battles at the state level across the country. The 2021 legislative sessions have just begun in most states and there have already been some horrendous bills passed.

Many of these states have very short legislative sessions (three months or less), so it is imperative that you take action immediately.

Pro-life Social Media – Abortion Organization Tweets Love For Babies

Once more, the heretical group calling itself “Catholics for Choice” posts a tweet that reaches a galactic level of ignorance. The newly appointed communications officer, speaking on behalf of the abortion violence advocacy organization, published the following:

It’s hard to make things better for babies when you work for an organization that advocates for their destruction.

When your hypocrisy is exposed, eschew the subject and ridicule the spelling:

Catholics for Choice represents Catholicism as much as Clymer represents femininity. (Meet C4C’s new hire here.)  In choosing its new communications director, Catholics for Choice has found someone who perfectly encapsulates the abortion organization’s fakery—pretending to be someone you’re not.
