Washington, D.C. (1 December 2008) – Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League, issued the following statement regarding Planned Parenthood of Indiana’s Christmas gift certificates. PPIN will sell the certificates in $25 increments that can be used as cash in any of their 35 Indiana clinics.
"This is an outrage and every Christian should be appalled. Christmas, perhaps more than any other time of the year, is dedicated to the miracle of life and Divine Love, which is under attack in our relativist society. Chief among the assailants is and has always been the twisted philosophy Planned Parenthood promotes – a philosophy that enshrines selfishness, devalues human life and degrades human sexuality.
"Planned Parenthood 'gift' certificates would be more accurately described as death certificates. A gift from the nation’s chief purveyor of abortions amounts to such for thousands of children each year."
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to death.
