This is the time of year when we think about the real meaning of Christmas, or at least we hope that everyone does. Reflecting on the manger scene brings thoughts of love and admiration. The words “star of wonder, star of night” come to mind, but that is because we have waited for the birth of the Christ Child whose preborn life began on the Feast of the Annunciation.
So this is the perfect time for Americans to consider once again the question of when a human being’s life begins. As Alexandra DeSanctis recently wrote, the silliest argument for abortion is that nobody among proponents of abortion seems to know when a human being begins. And while such inanity exists, the truth is that this ignorant argument is deception; it is a propaganda ploy that has cost millions of little ones their lives.
The simple truth—the question of when the human being actually begins—is a scientific one with a very easy answer. Human embryologists have long understood the science even though those who market abortion have been denying it for nearly 50 years. So at this stage in the evolution of man’s quest to be God, is it any wonder that we are now discussing whether biology identifies male and female or whether nature got it wrong?
The result is gender confusion—a mindset that is real, and one with causes that must be explored and treated so that the person is happy in his or her own body rather than one that results in the mutilation of the body.
You see, it serves the purposes of the mavens of disinformation to justify positions such as the recent United Nations principle of “self-identification,” which is that “a man who self-identifies as a woman must be treated as a woman, even in prison, regardless of legal identification or biological characteristics.”
But as we know, simply stating a thing does not make it so because nature is not beholden to political agendas or twisted ideals created in the backrooms of hell.
So when politicians like Nancy Pelosi are proud of a proposal that allegedly codifies the legal acceptability of same-sex marriage, we have to wonder how credible or unbiased the political systems in this nation are. Today we are living in an era when the media, judges, and elected officials are serving up a dish of crimes against the laws of nature beginning with contraception, abortion, and sexual deviance. And the list goes on.
Some say these are legal constructs, but for those of us who understand the way nature works as designed by God, these are twisted plates heaped high with denial of truth, nature, and common sense. This is the condition of man that begets instructions like that, which recently came from the book of Associated Press’ stylebook. The text reads: “‘Late-term’ is defined by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) as ‘41 weeks through 41 weeks and 6 days of gestation, and abortion does not happen in this period.’”
But as one legitimate source explains, “This definition is neither a legal term nor the commonly accepted view, and the AP is attempting to disguise a political argument as a dictionary term.”
However, in the current environment all manner of deceptions parade as fact, and the intelligent public is left in that proverbial stew of not really knowing whom to believe. That is why the events in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago are so important.
Truth was born in that manger, and He was later to say it Himself: “I am the way and the truth and the light.”
While the world and those who love it follow deceit to its logical destination, we know that by following Christ we will never be among those who close their eyes and deny Him, thus rejecting Truth itself.
