American Life League Stands with Catholic Bishops in Steadfast Opposition to Obama Mandate on Religious Freedom
(Washington, DC) —American Life League supports the fight for religious freedom. Paul E. Rondeau, executive director of American Life League, issued the following statement:
American Life League supports the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) call for the June 21–July 4, 2012, “Fortnight for Freedom” event. We urge Christians nationwide to heed the call and make a difference. This event sponsored by the USCCB will serve as a battle cry for all in the fight for religious freedom.
American Life League recognizes that the Obama HHS mandate is not only a slap in the face to Catholics but all people of faith. It is a clear violation of the conscience rights of all; the mandate betrays the United States Constitution and the citizens of America. Obama’s edict replaces God’s morality with the latest fad of government-imposed values.
As faithful Catholics, we have the Constitutional right to refuse to participate in acts defined by our faith as immoral. We stand with the bishops and demand that President Obama cease and desist his attacks on religious freedom and personal liberty.
