I don't know about you, but I have read more than thirty articles over the past two weeks, all dealing with South Korea's infamous scientist, Hwang Woo-suk. But perhaps the most intriguing aspect of his specific fall from grace, and the deceptive tactics that caused his tumble, is not so much that he did this, but that others may have done the same and simply gone unnoticed.
When you live in a culture where money is more important than respecting innocent human life, where convenience trumps morality, and where people with "issues" seem to be the ones who believe that there really is a difference between right and wrong, should the Hwang story be so shocking?
What did he do? Hwang falsified a scientific experiment, making claims about the creation of human cloned embryos from whom he took embryonic stem cells. Hwang now admits that the final article was falsified in one, if not many ways.
But a great deal of our "science" today is based on lies. Scientists say the human embryo is not really a human being! Scientists say pregnancy doesn't begin until eight days after it has actually begun. Scientists say that brain dead people are actually dead. Scientists say that severely disabled patients are actually dying.
The culture of death is based on lies from beginning to end. All Hwang really did was participate in the game – the deadly game of deceit that has permeated our lives while ending the lives of countless millions.
