Colorado ‘BEARfoot for Babies’ Conference to Highlight Personhood

Washington, D.C. (30 September 2010) – Pro-life students at the University of Northern Colorado will be highlighting the personhood movement by featuring an all-star line-up of speakers at their second annual BEARfoot for Babies conference.

Personhood USA will provide live streaming of the event, and American Life League will distribute information on the human personhood movement, which is growing nationwide.

There will be presentations by activist Lila Rose; speaker Rebecca Kiessling, conceived in rape; bioethics expert Rev. Tad Pacholczyk; author Brian Gail; former abortion mill owner Carol Everett; and others.

The conference will be held as part of Life Week, Oct. 3-9, when, as they did in 2009, pro-life UNC students will buck personal comfort and societal norms by going barefoot around campus to raise awareness of the lack of basic human rights for preborn people.

Colorado has become the ground zero of the abortion wars, since it is the only state with a pro-life initiative on its November 2010 ballot.

Amendment 62, known as the personhood amendment, would add the following text to the Colorado Constitution:

Section 32. Person defined. As used in sections 3, 6, and 25 of Article II of the state constitution, the term “person” shall apply to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being.

American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to death.  For more information or press inquiries, please contact Katie Walker at 540.659.4942.
