Approximately 1400 BC, the Israelites began their invasion of Canaan. This war can very easily be viewed, in a certain sense, as being representative of the war between a culture of life and a culture of death. The Israelites worshipped the Almighty God, creator of Heaven and Earth and of all life. The Canaanites, on the other hand, worshipped false gods, particularly Moloch, to whom children were regularly sacrificed.
Canaan was a nation of strong armies and vast, impenetrable city walls and, by all appearances, was far too powerful for the wandering tribes of Israel to conquer. But God provided a formula for them to follow. God instructed Joshua to have seven priests take up the Ark of the Covenant and, in procession around the city walls, blow rams’ horns with the Ark following behind them. On the seventh day, the city walls fell and the Israelites completely conquered the city of Jericho.
Mary is the Mother of God, but she is also called the Ark of the New Covenant. She is called this because, just as the Ark of the Old Covenant contained the Law of God which was handed to Moses, Mary carried The Word Made Flesh within her womb, and it is through her womb that salvation came into the world.
Today, the dragon has built a New Canaan in Planned Parenthood—and the blueprint for bringing down its seemingly impenetrable walls and limitless resources is to bring the Ark of the New Covenant to the front of the battle.
American Life League’s campaign to Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary does just that. With special prayers written by Bishop Emeritus John W. Yanta of Corpus Christi, Texas, and beautiful images of Our Lady which bear the words, “Please stop Planned Parenthood,” American Life League is providing prayer warriors across the nation with the winning strategy for finally and definitively bringing an end to the culture of death.
Mary, Mother of God, help us.
