Planned Parenthood Comprehensive Sexuality Education, AKA Customer Funnel

By Jim Sedlak

Whenever Planned Parenthood suffers a loss of customers—as it has in the last decade—it employs one solution. That solution is to push what it calls comprehensive sexuality education programs in school districts across the nation. The primary reason for this is that these CSE programs are designed to get teens involved in a sexual lifestyle. Those teens then allow Planned Parenthood to rake in millions of dollars a year from government programs, cooperating philanthropists, and the kids themselves.

In today’s marketing parlance, CSE programs are “customer funnels.” Planned Parenthood draws in the teens by having its programs presented in schools, YWCAs, to Girl Scout troops, 4-H clubs, and anywhere else teens—especially girls—gather. Among other things, the presentations take away the mystery of sex and reduce it to actions that the kids think they understand. This makes them more likely to engage in sexual behavior and fuel Planned Parenthood’s lucrative contraception and abortion business.

In pursuit of its goal of universal CSEs for every American child, Planned Parenthood pushed and got passed in 2015 the California Healthy Youth Act. This act mandated that, starting in 2016, a host of offensive material be taught to our children in middle and high schools. In typical 21st century fashion, the act requires programs to spend class time pushing the agenda of the LGBTQ activists. To Planned Parenthood’s chagrin, two years later, there are still California school districts that refuse to implement the program.

As was pointed out in a recent Orange County Register article, many parents are refusing to support these programs because they ignore their religious beliefs. Parents are rightfully upset that much of the content of these programs contradicts the tenets of their religions. There is no major religious denomination, for example, that condones sexual activity between unmarried minors. Yet, these programs specifically push the concept that it is okay for teens to have sex as long as both people give their “consent.”

Another disturbing part of the programs is the portraying as “normal” of many activities that are considered sinful. Things like masturbation, homosexual relations, bisexuality, and ever-changing gender identity are included in these school programs and the children are tested on the content.

Objections to these programs are not just limited to a few school districts in California. SouthCoastToday in Massachusetts recently ran an article on the trouble Planned Parenthood and its friends are having in getting a Healthy Youth Act passed in that liberal state. The Healthy Youth Act specifically states:

Each school district or public school that offers sexual health education shall provide medically accurate, age-appropriate education. Sexual health education under this section shall: teach the benefits of abstinence and delaying sexual activity in conjunction with the importance of effectively using contraceptives and barrier methods to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS; teach students the skills to effectively negotiate and implement safer sexual activity; help students develop the relationship and communication skills to form healthy, respectful relationships free of violence, coercion, and intimidation and make healthy decisions about relationships and sexuality; and be appropriate for students regardless of gender, race, disability status, or sexual orientation.

Again, these types of educational programs, on such a values-laden subject, ignore the religious liberty rights of parents and the children themselves. In today’s society, there are many young teens who have specifically made the decision to refrain from sexual activity. Yet, they are being forced by state laws to have to sit through these detailed lessons, take tests on the subject (where they have to give the “school-taught” answers), and are often penalized if they speak up for a more holy way of life.

We applaud the parents in California and the legislators in Massachusetts who are fighting to keep their children from being inundated with these over-sexualized programs. Planned Parenthood is not happy, of course. It knows that, without these CSE programs acting as its customer funnel, its financial base collapses and it will be forced to close more facilities and get out of town.

Let’s support our children and reject any attempt to put the offensive CSE programs in any of our schools.
