New Video: American Life League exposes "Catholic" support for abortion-expanding H.R. 3200 by Katie Walker Released August 14, 2009
Washington, D.C. (14 August 2009) – American Life League blasts three Catholic organizations in a new online report, exposing the controversy surrounding apparent Catholic support for the current health care reform bill.
The video, ‘Obamacare: Abortion’s Trojan Horse,’ explains how abortion will be a major part of the new Obamacare system via the Health Benefits Advisory Commission.
After exposing how the health care bill will be a mandate for abortion, euthanasia, contraception, rationed care and sex education, ALL’s Michael Hichborn admonishes Catholic Charities USA, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Catholic Health Association for their part in promoting Obama’s calls for health reform.
“How can any Catholic support this bill and still claim to believe what the Church teaches?” asked Michael Hichborn, host of the American Life League Report. “Not only are there provisions in the bill for abortion and euthanasia, but the very idea of socialism, which is what this bill is, has been condemned by the Church for over one hundred years.”

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul sent an action alert to its supporters at the end of July which stated, “While there are many details in the health reform bill(s) that still need to be developed, we must maintain momentum for health care reform efforts with calls and e-mails supporting health care reform immediately.”
“Acknowledging certain aspects of the bill that ‘need to be developed,’ while calling for immediate support is disingenuous,” Hichborn said. “This socialist legislation is antithetical to Church teaching, will open the doors to the culture of death and needs to be scrapped now.”
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death.
